What is a prescriptive rebate? A standardized, predetermined list of rebates for CenterPoint Energy customers who add, replace, or retrofit natural gas equipment of pre-qualified, high-efficiency performance. These rebates are set dollar amounts.
Prescriptive rebate offerings:
• Boilers and boiler system components (hot water and steam)
• Space heating system rebates • Water heater rebates • Foodservice equipment rebates • Other programs and services

Allow 6-8 weeks to receive rebate in the mail from the time that
CenterPoint Energy receives the completed paperwork.

Natural Gas Energy Analysis- Steam Trap Survey
CenterPoint Energy offers a subsidized steam trap survey to Natural
Gas Energy Analysis program participants through the Custom
Analysis option
What’s included in this audit?
An energy audit professional will visit your facility to:
• Conduct steam trap testing using ultrasonic and infrared equipment
• Inventory all traps tested
• Identify failed traps to be replaced
• Highlight other areas of concern (i.e. leaking valves and uninsulated
pipes)
CenterPoint Energy also offers rebates to cover 35% of repaired or
replaced steam traps, up to $10,000 per building
Here’s how to participate:
1. Customer contacts their CenterPoint Energy key account
manager or our Business Customer Hotline at 612-321-4939
(877-803-3803)
2. CenterPoint Energy will work with our vendor to start process
3. Vendor contacts the customer to discuss needs
4. Vendor creates the program agreement and customer signs
5. Schedule analysis- vendor works directly with the customer
6. Analysis performed by vendor
7. Report to customer from vendor
8. Customer contacts their trade ally for repairs/replacements to be made and rebated through the prescriptive program

Natural Gas Energy Analysis- Steam Trap Survey
Process steam trap repair/replacement program:
Program pays either $15 per audited trap or 100% of the process steam
trap audit (whichever is less)
A process facility is eligible for the funding every other year
Customers are also eligible to receive rebates for failed trap
replacements

• Helps property owners understand their buildings'
energy use
• Goal: achieve immediate energy savings through
low cost/no cost improvements and move beyond
initial measures to achieve deeper savings

If you’re working with a customer offering affordable housing
multi-family, they can receive a 25% rebate bonus in addition
to the prescriptive rebate amount
Eligibility:
• Five or more housing units in the building
• Minimum of 66% of units occupied by low-income
households
