2018 Conquistador Classic Field Show Tournament Director’s Packet

WELCOME: On behalf of the Don Lugo Band Boosters, thank you for coming to our Annual “Conquistador Classic” Field Show Tournament! We are filled with anticipation and excitement and are so pleased to have you here!! First aid station is located on the east side of the stadium, near our Hospitality Area. Please see any attendant for assistance in case of an emergency. ADMISSION: Tickets will be available at the ticket booth near the stadium’s North entrance. Prices are $12.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors 65 and older and active Military personnel in uniform or with ID and children 5-12 years old. Children 4 and under are free.

BUS/EQUIPMENT TRUCK PARKING: All buses and equipment trucks must first check in at Buena Vista Continuation High School off of Ramona Avenue, 13509 Ramona Avenue, Chino, Ca. 91710. From there; After check in, 4/5A bands will head North on Ramona Avenue, to Chino Avenue, turn left. Chino Avenue to Pipeline Avenue, turn left (south). Bus Parking will be on the right, in front of the school. If you get to Schaeffer, you’ve gone too far! After check in, 1/2/3A bands will head North on Ramona, making a left on Chino. They will PASS PIPELINE. There will be a side entrance on the left, past the tennis courts, and behind the home side stadium seats. (Please watch for signs). If you get to Roswell, you have gone too far.

ARRIVAL/WRISTBANDS: Arrival Packets and wrist bands will be distributed at bus check in, at Buena Vista. Pit crew/volunteer wrist bands will be in the packets, which were determined by WBA. All other parents/volunteers will need to purchase an admission wrist band for $12.00. MUSIC WARM UP AREAS: Warm up areas are completely open on our campus, south of the stadium. Please play away from the stadium out of courtesy to the other performing ensembles. Please be aware of your pre-staging and performance times, via WBA line-up. Although we will have guides to assist you, it is your responsibility to get your group to

the staging area on time. Please review the maps included in this packet!! PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT/PROPS: Be sure to have adequate staff and means to assist the moving of your percussion equipment and props to and from the performance area. Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on the field turf at any time! JUDDGE’S COMMENTS: WBA now uses a software program called Competition Suite. Please refer to the WBA website under forms to make sure you are signed up for this. AWARDS: Trophies and awards will be given for the following: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place for Each Class Best Music in Each Class: Music Perf (Ind) + Muisc Perf. (Ens) Best Visual in Each Class: Vis. Perf (Ind) + Vis. Perf (Ens) Best Effect in Each Class: Music Effect + Visual Effect Best Percussion in Each Class Best Auxiliary in Each Class SEATING ASSIGNMENTS FOR VISITOR STANDS: ALL performing members are to sit on the visitor side of the stadium, until that seating area is full, at which time your school will be directed to a selected seating area.

CONCESSION STANDS: There will be an assortment of food, drinks and snacks for participants and spectators. NO GRILLS OR OPEN FIRES ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS, STADIUM OR PARKING LOTS. This is a fundraising event and we encourage all participants to support our event by purchasing food at the concession stands in the stadium. HOSPITALITY: We have an amazing hospitality area for staff members to eat and relax located at the south side of the stadium near the staging area. Please join us for complimentary food and drinks. Admission to this area is for those staff members who have an official WBA staff pass only- please no children- ADULTS ONLY! SPECTATOR PARKING: Due to the number of bands in attendance, our parking lot will fill quickly and will be on a first come- first serve basis. Spectator parking will cost $5.00. PLEASE inform your guests of this before arrival, to avoid conflict. Spectator parking is in our main stadium parking lot, as well as along Chino Avenue, and Pipeline Avenue. Parking on the street is free, however it is further from the stadium ticket entrance. PROGRAMS: Tournament programs will be on sale at the ticket booth and throughout the stadium for $5.00. Please encourage your spectators and students to purchase a program.

VENDOR BOOTHS: We have retained the services of several vendors located inside the stadium gates. Encourage your students and parents to patronize and support all the vendors at the tournament. LOST & FOUND: Lost and found is available and will be located at the ticket booth. TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL BEVERAGES: Absolutely NO SMOKING OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are permitted on the premises. Please review this very important rule with your students, staff and booster parents.
