Transcript of Connie Molen Letter About Scott Transfer
Hello to all,
Scott called me tonight in a panic. He was informed that his name is on a
list to be transferred to a unit where sex offenders are being rounded up and
placed, where they have been threatened and beaten because of what they were
convicted of. We feel the prison is doing this to be sadistic. They make a
practice of purposefully putting sex offenders in with bullys and "maximum
security" inmates, am sure, for sadistic purposes. t is a regular
occurrance.
am asking for your prayers on his behalf.
!lease read the letter below that wrote to the warden to see what our
concerns are.
thank each and every one of you for not only your prayers but for your
support.

2ear 5r. irkman and 5r. /lades,
am writing in regards to my husband, 5ichael Scott 5olenAs. We are desperate
for your attention to what may be happening to him soon.
He -ust got word today that he was on a list to move him from unit H, a
workers unit in , over to the west wing. t is common knowledge that sex
offenders are being moved to the west wing #a dormatory$ where they are lumped
together. n essence, the prison population is being made aware that those who
are in the west wing units B and have been convicted of a sex offense. This
places their lives in -eopardy. These men are being segregated and again, in
essence, may -ust as well have a big bullseye painted on their foreheads. They
are not safe there and -ust the fact that they are in B and targets them for
violence from other inmates.
have heard from a man who was transferred over there recently and has been
threated with his life. He stated to his family that he doesnAt dare close
his eyes at night for fear of being beaten or killed.
Scott has been working diligently and faithfully in "intake". He values his
-ob, is a very hard worker and is in a workers unit with other workers. He
has been treated fairly and respectfully by his bosses and the other inmates.
5ost, of course, do not know what he was convicted of and have not asked. He
knows that if he is transferred they would more than likely find out and,
again, would be in danger.
We suspect that this move may be a retaliation or that 2C feels he may be
getting too comfortable. We have heard that this happens on a regular basis
to keep the inmates in turmoil. pray this is not the case but it appears to
be.
Scott was falsely accused and wrongly convicted of a crime he did not commit.
know you probably hear that all the time but everyone who has read his story
sees clearly that he is innocent. n a nutshell, we as grandparents tried to
get custody of a grandchild who was being exposed to horrible sexual
situations by her mother and her mothers boyfriends. Shortly after we
expressed our desire to gain custody of the grandchild charges were brought
against him. +ournalists and the nnocence !ro-ect, amongst others have taken
an interest in what happened to him and are trying to get his story out.
6ou can read about it on !ro 0ibertate' rime of owardice' The 7n-ust
mprisonment of Scott 5olen. The reason mention this arcile again is that
it gives his story in a nutshell. The importance of the prison knowing his
story is that they need to realiDe that he is being punished for a crime he
did not commit by being sentenced to ;< years. We donAt feel like it is the
prison systems duty to punish him further and by putting his life and his -ob
in -eopardy.
He was sentenced to ;< years and while we are fighting for his freedom he -ust
wants to do his time in peace, work hard at his -ob and stay out of trouble.
The purpose of this plea is to ask that whomever is in charge of making
decisions as far as transfers of this kind reconsider and think about the
horrible conseEuences of lumping the sex offenders together in one unit where
everyone knows what their charges are. feel it opens the door for violence
against them. t is extremely unfair as Scott has worked so very hard at
making the best of a terrible situation, working hard at earning respect from
other inmates and his employers.
ask that you, 5r. irkman and 5r. /lades, speak with the persons in or
2C and hopefully work it out so my husband will not have to be transferred,
that he can keep his -ob and stay in his current unit and feel safe.
thank you so much for your consideration of this matter.
Fery Sincerely, onnie 5olen
