2009 Financial Review

• Excellent year – operating income $1,021,000• 5-Year giving (operating):

2010 Budget Overview• Church Council approved $1,015,000 operating budget• Budget is balanced (operating budget = expected income)• Contains modest increases from 2009 levels to ministries,

including:– Music & Worship– Children’s Ministry & Nursery– Youth– Missions

• Decrease in Administration budget• As the year progresses, we’ll make adjustments as needed• Copies of the line-item budget are available up front after the

meeting

Development Team Update

• Master plan has been drafted, as well as a preliminary first phase: estimated cost ~$9mm

• We need to align the scope and cost of first phase with what the church can realistically afford

• Master plan is on hold while we find a capital funds consultant

• The capital funds consultant will help us:– Determine realistic fund-raising expectations, so first

phase can be properly sized & wrap up master plan – Organize and run a capital campaign

Capital Funds Consultant Search

• Search Team:– Roger Klein, David Minze, Gary Peden, Eric Paulsen, Marlin Fenn

• 7 firms were identified and invited to submit a “statement of qualifications”

• 6 Firms have responded, three finalists will be interviewed in early April

• Proposal will be submitted to Church Council in mid-April• Timing of capital campaign is not determined yet – most

likely Fall 2010 or Spring 2011• You can contribute to the capital fund any time - just

indicate “capital” on your check/envelope
