Renovation Update February 1, 2018 By Norman Heyden
Although we have made tremendous progress, renovation work still remains, and if you have not as yet contributed, it is definitely not too late. Many renovation dedication opportunities are still available, including benches for the main shul at $1800 each. Please contact Michael Garber or Norman Heyden for details. We need everyone’s support!
In order to maintain the spiritual and physical beauty of our shul, EVERYONE needs to keep all areas of the shul clean. If you see tissues, napkins, or other refuse on the floor please pick it up and discard them, even if you did not drop it. If your shoes are muddy or filled with snow, wipe them off prior to entering, or on the entranceway “walk off” carpeting. Please control your children. Food must not be brought into the main shul.
The lighting for the Aron Kodesh stained glass has been installed in the main shul. The cylinder for the door lock on the Aron Kodesh and the lettering for the luchot and the pasuk should be installed next week. The stained glass for the Aron Kodesh is about two or three weeks away from completion and installation.
A roll of the mesh screen material that will replace the bus film on the mechitza has been received. We plan to test one sheet of it on one of the mechitza panels next week.
The book racks behind the benches are designed to hold ONE SEFER AT A TIME, such as a siddur OR Chumash, NOT multiple seforim. Please DO NOT STACK SEFORIM on the book racks as they will collapse into their downward closed position and the seforim will end up on the floor.
DO NOT REACH UNDER THE BOOK RACKS. Pulling on the mechanism below each book rack will damage it. They are raised and lowered by holding onto the book rack itself and moving it up or down. Please be sure to help others understand this important directive.
