Plotkin Judaica Museum

Artist Miriam Mladinov

Miriam is a graduate of Brandeis University and the Art Academy in Rome, Italy. She has designed costumes and sets for operas, plays, ballets and television in her native Croatia, Italy, Israel and the United States. In Phoenix she designed a set for The Kinder Transport presented by Arizona Jewish Theater. In 1998 Miriam moved to St. Paul, MN where she was Cultural Arts Director at the Jewish Community Center. In 2007 Miriam moved to Arizona, where she experimented with new techniques and sculptural ceramics. She developed a unique form combining her experience as a costume designer and ceramicist. Join us for an Exhibition Reception in the rotunda at 2pm. Discussion by the artist in the Roth chapel, with exhibit to follow.

Jacob Cole Roga Jacob Roga will become a Bar Mitzvah on November 5

th. Jake is the son of Alan and Ilana Roga and the grandson of

Roberta and Maishe Levitan and Judy and Salva Roga. He has an older sister Leah and two younger brothers, Ethan and

Josh. He is in the 7th

grade at Mountainside Middle School. His best subject is math but his favorite subject is lunch.

He enjoys football, basketball and being with his friends. For his mitzvah project, Jake collected old shoes for children

in need.

Noa Zoe Mahrer Zoe Mahrer will become a Bat Mitzvah on November 5

th. Zoe is the daughter of Eran and Stephanie Mahrer and the

granddaughter of Barbara and David Mayl and Alisa and Amos Mahrer. Zoe has an older sister, Mikaela and a younger

brother Noah. She is a 7th

grader at Desert Shadows Middle School. She enjoys dance, music arts, crafts and volunt-

eering. For her mitzvah project, Zoe volunteered at the following non-profits: St. Vincent De Paul, Phoenix Mountain

Nursing Center, UMOM and Feed My Starving Children.

Lauren Alexa Benjamin Lauren Benjamin will become a Bat Mitzvah on November 12

th. Lauren is the daughter of Jonathan and Leslie Benjamin

and the granddaughter of Gwen and Ralph Bookbinder and Judy Goodyear and Alan Benjamin. Lauren has an older

sister, Jamie. She is in 8th

grade at Sonoran Trails Middle School and her favorite subject is science. Lauren is a

competitive dancer with Dance Motion Performing Company. For Lauren’s mitzvah project, she chose to remember a

child who died in the holocaust through Remember Us. She has also volunteered with a back to school clothing drive

for children in need.

Jacob Samuel Kaye Jacob Kaye will become a Bar Mitzvah on November 12th. Jacob is the son of Joel and Jennifer Kay and the grandson

of Anne and Allan Kleinman and Ellen Kaye and the late Rick Kaye, and the great grandson of Berdie Pime and Clara

Goldberg. Jacob has an older brother, Zachary. He is an 8th

grader at Mountainside Middle School and his best subject

is language arts and his favorite subject is PE. He enjoys sports and spending time with friends. For his mitzvah project,

Jacob volunteered with AZ Power Paws – petting and socializing puppies that will be assistance dogs.

Darcy Arielle Vecchione Darcy Vecchione will become a Bat Mitzvah on November 19

th. Darcy is the daughter of Ken and Deidre Vecchione

She has an older brother, Alexander. Darcy is an 8th

grader at Rancho Solano. Her best subject is English and her

favorite subject is Spanish. She enjoys reading, golf, soccer and shopping. For her mitzvah project, Darcy volunteered

with the Feed My Starving Children organization.

Matthew Brian Adelberg Matthew Adelberg will become a Bar Mitzvah on November 26

th. Matthew is the son of Daniel and Sara-Jane

Adelberg and the grandson of Phyllis and Dr. Michael Epner and Vicki and Dr. William Dramond and Sheila and Gerald

Adelberg. Matthew has two older brothers, David and Steven. He is an 8th

grader at Desert Canyon Middle School and

his best and favorite subject is science. He enjoys magic, The Gathering, legos, the trombone, video games and is a car

enthusiast. For his mitzvah project, Matthew volunteered with Power Paws.

Isabella Ava Marias Isabella Marias will become a Bat Mitzvah on November 26

th. Isabella is the daughter of Mark and Coleen Marias

and the granddaughter of Renee and Martin Marias and the late Maria Coleman and Dennis Keating.. Isabella has an

older sister, Hannah. She is in 7th

grade at Mountainside Middle School and her favorite and best subject is math.

Isabella enjoys singing, playing guitar and rock climbing. For Isabella’s mitzvah project, she participated on the

fundraising team for the Run to Fight Children’s Cancer.
