NICE ORIGINES

Dominique Befve, Managing Direc-tor at Château Lascombes in Mar-

gaux since 2001, has been working for 10 years in the wine industry. He has worked for the Barons de Rothschild estates at Château Lafite, Duhart Mi-lon in Pauillac, and the Evangile in Pomerol. He is a nature lover who is passionate about his job, from the vine to the la-bel ! He always samples the wines with pleasure, humour and “joie de vivre”.Today, while doing his job at Château Lascombes, he is happy to elaborate on his own wine, which vines are on the Margaux appellation.

Surface : 7 acres in Margaux appellationSoil and Grape varieties of the vineyard :- Deep gravel soil between Chateaux Cantenac-Brown, Rau-zan-Ségla and Palmer- 50% Merlot- 50% Cabernet Sauvignon- Average age : 25 years

Harvesting date :- Merlot : October 16th- Cabernet Sauvignon : October 28th

Blend 2008 :- 50% Merlot- 50% Cabernet Sauvignon

Yields : 45hl/haViticultural methods and vinification for the vintage :- Shot removal- 2 de-leafings- 1 bunch thinning- Hand picking harvest in ten-kilo crates- Sorting before and after de-stemming- Cold maceration (5 days)- Alcoholic fermentation in vats- Malolactic fermentation in barrels- Stirring of the lees for 3 months- Ageing for 20 months: o 50% new barrels o 50% in one year barrels

« Directeur de Las-combes, Dominique Befve a acquis 2ha de vigne coincés entre Cantenac-Brown et Rauzan-Ségla.D’une couleur gre-nat foncé ce 2006 se montre sympathique par son bouquet fruité et vanillé comme par son palais rond, frais et bien équilibré porté par de frais tanins. CONFIDENCE(“玛歌秘诀”酒庄)

H H H HSitué sur le plateau calcaire entre Cantenac et Soussans, Confidence est composé de 50% de merlot et 50% de cabernet sauvignon. De couleur violette, il dégage des arômes de vanille et de fruits rouges. Ses tannins sont souples et ronds. A boire dans 10 ans ...

Located on a limestone plateau between Cantenac and Soussans, Confidence consists of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Purple colour with vanil-la and red fruit aromas. Smooth, round tannin. Best enjoyed young (10 years).
