Our faith

1. Confession of our faith2. Confession of sins

Romans 10:8-10

8. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Matt. 16:13-16

13. When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?14. And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.15. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?16. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

“Thou art the Christ”- the Messiah- Hebrew for anointed- anointed of God as the Redeemer

42. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:43. For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
