The California Gang Investigators Association, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and The Federal Bureau of Investigation presents the Twentieth Annual Gang Violence Conference at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel, Anaheim, California August 2 – August 5, 2011 Conference Information Multi-Discipline Conference Format In the interest of providing the very best multi-discipline gang training, the CGIA, the ATF, the FBI, and the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department have once again joined together in a cooperative effort to bring this training to a national forum. This year’s conference will provide a training setting for a national perspective of a full service management of street gangs and their criminal activity. Training will explore approaches in enforcement and prevention. All training for attending personnel, no matter the discipline, will be the most current and relevant available in the nation. Subject matter will include the following: Basic Gang Culture Prevention Techniques Intervention Techniques Gang Injunctions and Abatements Hispanic Gangs Black Gangs Asian Gangs Task Forcing Border Violence Gang Unit Management Gangs in School Executive Forums Hotel Reservations Conference attendees can make their hotel reservations with Hilton Anaheim Hotel at 800 445-8667 or 714 750-4321, ext. 3200, Group Reservations. Please refer to the National Gang Conference (reference code: CGIA) to obtain the Conference rate of $149 plus 15% tax, single or double occupancy. The room rate is available until July 18, 2011. Hotel rooms may be available after this cut-off date; however, the prevailing rate will be charged. The Hilton Anaheim Hotel requires a deposit by check, money order, or accepted credit card for the first night to reserve and guarantee accom- modation. Reserve early to guarantee the discounted room rate. Cancellations must be made at least 4 days prior to arrival date for refund of deposit. Check-in time is 3:00 PM; check-out is 11:00 AM. Group Rate Available CGIA is offering a group conference registration rate. Group rates are available for departmental units that register 10 or more personnel per individual unit. To request further information on the group rate, contact the CGIA Hotline at 888-229-2442 or any CGIA conference registration staff listed on the registration form.

Single Day Registration Fee Tuesday-Thursday $125, includes conference materials, handouts and luncheon. Friday rate is $100.

Badges and Admittance Conference identification badges MUST be worn for admittance to any conference sessions or hospitality events.

Registration Information Conference registration fee is $270 per person for members and $300 for nonmembers. This includes annual CGIA mem-bership fee for law enforcement professionals, conference materials, handouts and a certificate of completion. CGIA ac-cepts payments in US funds by check, money order, agency purchase order, or credit card: Visa, MasterCard, Ameri-can Express or Discover. Checks and purchase orders should be made payable to CGIA. Registrations received after July 19, 2011, will be assessed a $25 late fee without prior approval of CGIA. POST Credit Qualified law enforcement conference attendees will receive POST and / or college credit after completing the training. POST numbers are obtainable from your agency training unit. The training is not POST reimbursable, however.

Cancellation and Refund Policies Upon written or telephonic request to CGIA, registration fees are fully refundable for cancellations received by July 19, 2011. After this date, a $50 cancellation fee will be assessed. Substitutions may be made by written or telephonic re-quest to CGIA.

Conference Registrant Check-in Conference check-in will be held at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel ballroom reservation desk area, Monday, August 1, 2011 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Tuesday August 2, 2011, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. A valid form of government and agency photo identification MUST be presented to claim registration materials. NOTE: THERE WILL BE AN OPTIONAL BASIC GANG UNDERST ANDING CLASS OFFERED ON THE EARLY REGIS-TRATION DAY, MONDAY, AUGUST 1, 2011 FROM 3:00 PM TO 6:00 PM. THE CLASS IS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRA-TION FEE AND THE HOURS WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE OVER ALL POST TRAINING POINTS NEEDED BY LAW EN-FORCEMENT PERSONNEL. ALL ATTENDING DISCIPLINES ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THIS CLASS.
