Prof.(Dr.) Parameswar Nayak

Prof. Nayak is an ardent Professor in Human Resource Management, an academic administrator, a

corporate trainer, a management consultant, and a professional social worker.

He has about 30 years of work experience in teaching (in India and overseas), academic administration, training,

research and consultancy, including about 19 years in Leadership Positions such as Director and Dean in the

leading B-Schools such as BIMTECH, Bhubaneswar, Amity University, Noida, KIIT University, ITS Institute of

Management, Greater Noida, besides his services at Delhi University, XIMB and BCT-IIHMR, Jaipur. He is a trained

trainer with training received from IIMs, XIMB, IIPA, ISHA and IIHMR. He has conducted over 300 training and

MDPs for executives of more than 25 public and private companies(NTPC,NSPCL,NLC,NHPC,JSPL,JPL,IFFCO,NBCC,

RSP(SAIL),Reserve Bank of India, THDC, PowerGrid, GAIL, SJVN, SMS India, FCIL,HZL, Prashar Bharati, ROTI,UCO

Bank, Allahabad Bank, NEM Engineering Projects Pvt. Ltd, UNICEF, and the Indian Red Cross). He has been invited

by a number of Universities and institutes of repute in India, Slovenia, Poland,Tanzania, Nepal, USA, UK and

OMAN as Visiting Professor, Resource Person and Keynote speaker at international conferences. He has

completed 23 consultancy research assignments sponsored by DFID (Govt. of U.K.), USAID, KFW (Germany),

Interact Worldwide, London, CRS, UNDP, Govt. of India, NRHM etc. He has worked for Adam Smith Institute as

Project Director- Social Safety Net Programme under DFID funded Public Sector Reform Programme of the Govt.

of Odisha. He has been an International Research Guide for 4 international interns under UNICEF-KCCI Internship

Program in 2009.

He has received National HR Excellence Award in the category–Best Management Education Leadership

Award(2018) from National Institute of Personnel Management( 2018), ‘Elvina’- the Luke Award of Delhi

University(1989), Chhatra Gourav Samman award from FM College (2019) besides doctoral fellowship from ICSSR,

and UGC’s Junior Research Fellowship with NET qualification He was awarded at the Said Business School, Oxford

University, UK for his best research paper presentation at the International Conference in the year 2018. His

publications include two books and several research papers besides his doctoral guidance. He is a Life member of

professional bodies like ISTD, ISTE, SSAI. He is a member of Knowledge Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce,

New Delhi and a member of Executive Committee (Academic Council) of NHRDN, Bhubaneswar Chapter and the

ISTD’s Testing & Certification Committee. He has been invited as assessor of HR best practices in companies for

the award of national level professional bodies such as NIPM. He has been invited as expert panelist in

International, National and Regional TV channels such as Bloomberg TV, NDTV, Door Darshan and News World

Odia TV. Dr. Nayak is an alumnus of Delhi University. He is a post graduate and Ph.D. in Personnel Management

and Industrial Relations. He has been instrumental in setting up of two rural hospitals, one each in Rajasthan and

Odisha. He is also an active Rotarian.

Prof. Golob is Professor of Linguistics and Stylistics. She is working Dean, Faculty of Social

Sciences at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Europe. Her teaching and research interest is

inLanguage Culture, Stylistics of Journalism and Advertising, Language Planning and Language

Policy. Between 2006—2011 and 2015—2017 she was a Vice-Dean for Students and Study Affairs on Faculty of

Social Sciences. From 2017 she is the Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana.

Dr. D. K. Hota CMD, BEML Limited, Bangalore, India.

Dr. Hota is an Economics Graduate from St. Stephens College, New Delhi with a

Masters Degree in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations from XLRI,

Jamshedpur. He started his professional journey in HPCL, where in a career

spanning 30 years, he rose to become the CEO of HPCL Bio-Fuels.

He joined BEML Board of Directors in 2013 and spearheaded various transformational HR initiatives

such as building the leadership pipeline and creating a competency framework and a customized

HR management system.

Dr Hota with his rich experience in HR & business operations rose to the position of CMD of BEML,

in 2016. As CMD, he took defining steps enabling BEML to gain crucial edge in the intensely

competitive business environment and take the company’s order book position to over Rs 10,000

crores.

His astute business acumen has catapulted BEML to the top position in supplying metro coaches in

the country against stiff competition from world’s leading metro manufacturers. His untiring efforts

has resulted in the company achieving the highest ever sales last year.

Dr. Hota, during his illustrious career has won several accolades and awards such as NHRD Award

for Most Seasoned HR Professional of the year, Most successful HR & CEO by NIPM, XLRI

Distinguished Alumnus Award (Practicing Manager), CEO with HR Orientation Award by World HRD

Congress, FORE-TOP RANKERS Exemplary Leadership Award, Top Challengers Award at

Construction World Global Awards and Outstanding Contribution to PSE Award by ICC. He was

recently conferred with The Machinist “Hall of Fame’ award for outstanding contribution to Indian

Manufacturing Industry.

He was also bestowed with the Honorary Degree of PhD by Manav Rachna Educational Institutions

(MREI) acknowledging his invaluable contribution to the Indian industry.

Prof. (Dr.) Jo-ann Rolle Dean, School of Business, Medgar Evers College, The City University of New York.

Dr. Jo-Ann Rolle is the Dean of the School of Business at Medgar Evers College.

Dean Rolle has extensive executive leadership experience in higher education,

corporate and federal government operations. In 2015 she was awarded

recognition by the Network Journal as one of the 25 influential African American women in

Business. Dean Rolle’s background includes working in multiple Federal agencies, academic

institutions, IBM, and consulting. In academic institutions she has been responsible for academic

leadership, academic programs, and student affairs. She has launched multiple undergraduate

and graduate degree programs. She has taught courses in economics and entrepreneurship. Her

skill set includes higher education administration; developing and leveraging strategic

At Medgar Evers College, under the leadership and support of President Rudy Crew, and

Provost Augustine Okereke, Dean Rolle launched the Entrepreneurship & Experiential learning

lab (EEL) in the fall of 2015. Since the EEL launch, Medgar Evers College teams have studied

entrepreneurship in ten countries; published in excess of 10 papers; initiated six international

agreements and in 2016 coached the first woman to win the CUNY-wide SmartPitch

competition. Dean Rolle is sought after internationally as a keynote speaker on

entrepreneurship and economic development.

Dr. H. Chaturvedi is Professor and Director at Birla Institute of Management

Technology, Greater Noida, India. He has more than 42 years of experience in

teaching, research and academic administration. He has been Director at All India

Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a statutory body under MHRD,

Government of India. Being a renowned management educationist, he has been deeply involved

with national bodies like AIMA, NHRDN, AIMS and the Indian Management Conclave (IMC),

organized by the MBA Universe.com. Dr Chaturvedi is a Member of Board of Governors, Indian

Dr. Chaturvedi is the Trustee and the Executive President of the Education Promotion Society for

India (EPSI), Academic Council Member, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad and also the Founder

President of the Alumni Association of Agra University (AAAU), BIMTECH Foundation and

Ranganathan Society for Social Welfare and Library Development (RSSWLD), Uttar Pradesh. He is

also Main Trustee of the Atal Incubation Centre BIMTECH. Dr Chaturvedi has authored and edited

five books relating to various challenges before Indian Business and economy and his latest book is

titled “Quality, Accreditation, and Ranking – A Silent Revolution is in the Offing in Indian Higher

Education, Bloomsbury, 2019”.

Prof. (Dr.) Sudhakar Panda

Vice- Chancellor, Birla Global University, India.

Prof. Panda, the first Vice Chancellor of Birla Global University, He retired as the

Professor and Head, Department of Analytics and Applied Economics, Utkal

University , Bhubaneswar. He worked as a distinct faculty in IIT Kharagpur,

Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Guest faculty at Vinod Gupta

School of Management, IIT Kharagpur. He joined School of Law, KIIT University as a senior

Farmers Commission. He was appointed a Member, State Council for Higher Education, Member,

State Audit Advisory Board, Member, State Level Eligibility Test (SLET), Maharashtra and West

Bengal. He was The Member of National Aids Control Organization, Member Senate, Fakir Mohan

University and Member, Rama Devi Women’s University, Odisha.

He has written six books out of which the Potato and the Pauper and Indian Economy in 2030 are

the most popular ones. He has a number of publications to his credit in both national and

international journals. He was felicitated by the Hon’ble Governor and Chancellor of universities of

Odisha for his contribution in teaching and research in the year 2012.

Prof. (Dr.) Aleksandra Kanjuo-Mrcela

Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Europe.

Prof. Aleksandra, Professor of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of

Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her teaching and research is in Economic Sociology, Sociology

of Work and Gender Studies. She is head of Doctoral School of the University of

Ljubljana and a member of the Steering committee of the European University Association Council

of Doctoral Education. She is an editor of Social Politics, Oxford University Press.

Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya

Former CMD, NLC India Ltd., India.

Presently Dr. Acharya is Advisor and National Professor for Birla Global University

(BGU) and also is an Independent Director on the Board of Bhubaneswar Smart

City Ltd. (BSCL). He is also an Independent External monitor for Shipping

Corporation of India Ltd. Dr. Acharya headed NLC India Limited (formerly Neyveli Lignite

Corporation) a Mining and Power Navratna PSU of Govt. of India as Chairman and Managing

Director from 01.10.2015 to 31.07.2018. During this period he also held the position of Chairman in

two more companies – NLC Tamilnadu Power Limited (NTPL) and Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power

Limited (NUPPL) engaged in coal based thermal power generation/project construction.

He carries with him rich and varied experience of over 38 years of working in BHEL, NTPC, NTPC-

SAIL Power Company and NLCIL. Prior to assumption of charge as CMD, Shri Acharya served NLC as

Director (Human Resource) from 16.12.2010 to 30.09.2015. Dr. Acharya studied Economics and

graduated from Ravenshaw College in the year 1977 and he got his Masters in Personnel

Management and Labour Welfare from Utkal University, Vanivihar in the year 1979.

Dr. Acharya is one of the few inspirational corporate leaders, whose name finds place in the book

‘Most Powerful HR Professionals of India’ (4th Edition). He is a Fellow of NIPM and a lifetime

achievement awardee by Green Tech Foundation for promoting sustainable HR & CSR. In April

2016, he received the Scope Excellence Award from Hon’ble President of India. He has been

conferred Fellowship by World Academy of Productivity Sciences for his significant and long lasting

contributions to the improvement of productivity, quality of work life and quality of life. In

Personal Management of India.

In the year 2018, Dr. Acharya was conferred with the ‘Seva Ratna Award’ jointly instituted by the

Mylai Thiruvalluvar Tamil Sangam, Nehru Yuvakendra, GoI, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Sri Sairam

Institutions, Chennai and also conferred with the Prestigious CSR Icon Award from APEX INDIA

FOUNDATION. Under his leadership, NLC India got the ‘Brand of the Decade Award’ by Herald

Global and BARC-Asia, the recognition of ‘Fastest Growing Navratna PSU in India’ by Hindustan

Times and PwC combine and also by Dun & Bradstreet in 2018.

Dr. Acharya is a Fellow of NIPM, co-chaired the National Mining Committee and PSE Council of CII,

India and also is on the Board of Governors for Institute of Public Enterprises, India. Widely

travelled and well trained in India and abroad, Dr. Acharya is a thought leader and achiever in

Corporate Business World. He is a Management guru and a visiting faculty to many premier

management institutes.

Prof.(Dr.) Shyam S. Lodha

Professor of Marketing, Southern Connecticut State University, USA.

Dr. Lodha is Professor of Marketing and International Business and chairman of the

Marketing Department at Southern Connecticut State University, USA. He had his

education in India and in the United States, and joined university teaching

profession in 1958. Before joining the Southern Connecticut State University in 1983,

Dr. Lodha was a professor of marketing at Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India. Since

1985, Dr. Lodha is Editor-in-chief of the ‘Business Journal’, a refereed publication of the School of

Business, Southern Connecticut State University and New England Business Administration

Association. He has also been editor of other two journals namely ‘ Asian Review’ and

‘Management Systems Review’. Dr. Lodha organized several executive development programs,

national and international conferences, workshops, seminars and symposiums on global topics in

USA and in other parts of the world. He has authored and edited several publications and articles

and research papers in the area of marketing and global business. He is a frequent speaker at

corporations, international /social organizations, management institutes and universities in USA

and other countries.

Registrar, Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, India

Dr Das, Registrar of the Birla global University, He holds Ph.D. in Economics and

LL.B. and Diploma in Business Management. He is also a Certified Associate of the

Indian Institute of Bankers. Dr Das is also a member of the Board of Governors of

the University.

Dr Das joined BIMTECH Greater Noida in 2009. Prior to that he was General Manager of leading

Public Sector Banks looking after General Administration, HR, Vigilance, Corporate Governance,

Manual of the Bank in close coordination with CVC. He Worked GM New Delhi for more than 4

years looking after the States of Delhi, UP, Uttaranchal, Jammu & Kashmir and a part of Haryana. As

GM OP, he was in charge of States of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh,

Odisha and a part of Maharashtra. Dr Das also worked with Prof Yunus, the Nobel laurate, in

Bangladesh Gramin Bank under a UNDP project.

He was associated with various decision making process at the Board Level and various Committees

of the Board. He was a member of the corporate level committees like Asset Liability Management

Committee, Risk Management Committee, New Business Committee, Top Management

Committee, Vigilance Advisory Committee, etc.

He Was a Director in the Board of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation. He was also

associated with Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI).He was the Chairman of State Level

Export Promotion Committee for Odisha and Himachal for 2 years. He was a member of the High

Powered Committee constituted by the Govt. of India for banking plan for the State of Jammu and

Kashmir.

He was appointed by the Govt. of India as Chairman of Regional Rural Bank for 3 years and also

headed the District Industries Centre of the Govt. of Odisha for 2 years planning and implementing

various Central and State programmes like Entrepreneur Dev Programmes, Integrated Rural

Development Programme, Prime Minister Rojgar Yojana and promotion of MSME.Dr Das presented

a paper ‘’Public Sector Banks-Business vrs Vigilance’’ in National Conference on SME and a paper

on Financial Inclusion in the Foundation Day Lecture series by the Dept. of Applied and Analytical

Economics, Utkal University.

Session-II: Thematic Presentations on Global Perspectives of Business Finance

Prof. R. D. Sharma Former Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Jammu, India.

Prof. Sharma is the former Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Jammu, India. He has

wide ranging rich experience of teaching, research and extension in business

education, and administrative experience at different levels. Dr. Sharma has also

worked as Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu October 30, 2014 – July 25, 2018.

During his tenure the University of Jammu got A+ NAAC Grade in 2016 and stood 64th in 2016, 63rd

in 2017and 51st in 2018 as per NIRF ranking, besides Category I University Page 2 of 41 in terms of

Graded Autonomy of UGC and thus got Rs. 100 crores for enhancing teaching and research. Besides

active participation in the academic deliberations at different occasions in India, Nepal, Srilanka,

Dubai, China, South Korea and Thailand, Dr. Sharma addressed the audience quite frequently in

different academic meets at several US universities and completed a research project entitled

“Marketing Effectiveness in American Consumer Banking” during his ten month stay as Visiting

Professor at University of Rhode Island, Kingston [USA] under Fulbright Fellowship Programme

Higher Learning in Management and Information Technology. He has completed two major

research projects funded by UGC and one funded by ICSSR. Prof. Sharma has been conferred as

Fellow of Indian Commerce Association.

He got 12 books (authored: 5 and edited: 7) and 122 papers published, with till dates total citations

of 740. Till-date 26 M. Phil.And 27 Ph. D. students have completed their research work under his

supervision and 02 more candidates are working at different stages of their research for Ph. D. in

Commerce.Dr. Sharma remained associated with several other universities and institutions of the

country like University of Delhi, BHU, M D University, Guru Nanak Dev University, Rajasthan

University, M S University of Baroda, NEHU, ICSSR, University of Kashmir, IGNOU, SMVDU, BGBU,

IUST, NAAC, Finance and Education Ministries of J&K State, J&K Public Service Commission, UGC,

AICTE etc. Dr. Sharma also remained associated with Vichar Kranti Munch International, an NGO for

the cause of moral and ethical values. Dr. Sharma has organized several academic meets,

workshops, seminars, extension lectures, conferences etc.

Prof.(Dr.) Banikanta Mishra Professor, Xavier Institute of Management, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, India. Prof. Mishra has been a Professor of Finance at Xavier Institute of Management,

Bhubaneswar since 1991. He received MA in Economics from Delhi School of

Economics and PhD in Finance from Stern School of New York University. He has

taught in USA at New York University, University of Florida, Emory University, University of

Michigan, University of Texas at Dallas, and University of Houston and also at IIM-Calcutta in India,

WHU in Germany, NUS in Singapore, and University or Turin in Italy.

He has been a Director of BNP Paribas - Sundaram Asset Management Company, Grid Corporation

of Orissa, and Industrial Development Corporation of Orissa, a Consultant to New York Citibank,

USA Georgetown Consulting Group, and Government of Orissa, and an Advisor to National Stock

Exchange of India, Industrial Development Bank of India, and Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange.

He has presented papers in various conferences in India, USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and

Australia and has published papers in top-rated journals like Journal of Finance and reputed

journals like Economic and Political Weekly. He has been in the Editorial-Board of International

Journal of Applied Management and Technology and ICFAI Journal of Applied Finance and a referee

for Journal of Business of University of Chicago and EPW. He has written occasionally in the

Economic Times. He has been a member of the Research Advisory Committee of Clearing

Corporation of India and the Academic Council of ICFAI. He has sometimes been invited to speak or

be interviewed on social issues, including by BBC on Power Sector Reform and by Eastern Michigan

Prof.(Dr.) Prof Ram Kumar Mishra Director, IPE, Hyderabad, India.

Prof Mishra, Senior Professor, Director and ONGC Subir Raha Chair Professor at

the Institute of Public Enterprise, is a graduate of International Management

Programme, SDA Bocconi, Milan, Italy. He has been a Fellow of British Council

and Commonwealth Secretariat. He has had research stints at London Business School and Maison

Des Sciences De L’ Hommes, Paris. He has taught at the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and

was a visiting Professor at Maison Des Sciences De L’ Hommes, Paris, University of Technology

Mara, Malaysia, Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is a member of the UN

Task Force on Standards of Excellence in Public Administration and Education. He has been a

Management Consultant to several organizations including DFID, Deloitte, Adam Smith Institute,

ADB and Centre for Good Governance. He was associated with the UNDP project on Macro

Economics of Poverty Reduction carried out by RBI Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Banking

Prof.(Dr.) Radhe S. Pradhan Former Professor, Tribhuvan University & Academic Director, Uniglobe College, Nepal

Dr. Pradhan is the former Professor of Tribhuvan University, Nepal and now

Academic Director at Uniglobe College, Nepal. He received his Master’s Degree in

Business Administration and Commerce in the First Division from the Tribhuvan

University, Nepal in 1975. He has done valuable research on working capital management for which

he was awarded the Ph. D. Degree of the University of Delhi, India in 1986. He has also completed a

one-year course under the Faculty Development Program at the Indian Institute of Management,

Ahmedabad, India in 1980. He has also served as Visiting Fulbright Faculty to the College of

Business, Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, USA from August 1992 to January 1993.

He got an opportunity to visit University of Hongkong in July 1996, and then Rikkyo University,

Tokyo, Japan as a Research Scholar from September 2000 to January 2001.

He has about four and half dozens of finance articles to his credit published in different national

and international journals. He has also contributed technical papers to different seminars including

international seminars held in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Dhaka, Thimpu, Jacksonville, and

Tallahassee. He is also the author of (1) Industrialization in Nepal: A Macro and Micro Perspective,

(2) Public Corporations of Nepal: A Study of Financial Ratios, (3) Management of Working Capital,

(4) Financial Management Practices in Nepal, (5) Research in Nepalese Finance, (6) Financial

He has delivered invited guest lectures at different national and international colleges and

universities including Post-Graduate Department of Commerce, Utkal University, India; university

of Warsaw, Poland, and at Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College, Winter Park,

Orlando, USA.He also worked in about 3 dozens of projects funded by donor agencies as a finance

specialist.

Mr. Mishra is currently working at the Board level of Amnaya Corporation US, a

company listed with the New York Stock Exchange. Till July 2019 Parthasarathi was

working as the CHRM with the Tata Steel Ltd for its Kalinganagar Steel, Gopalpur Project and

OMQ(Ore,Mines &Quary) division. He was instrumental in shaping the Kalinganagar Mega Steel

Plant of Tata Steel which was dedicated to the Nation in the year 2015 and is the Taj of Tata Steel.

In addition to Kalinganagar, he was assigned the CHRM role for creating Gopalpur as a SEZ hub in

Odisha by the management of Tatas and also operationalized the FMD plant which went for

commercial production in the year 2017.Mr. Mishra has done his Masters from Training Institute

for Productivity and Industrial Engineering, TIPIE, and Masters in Personnel Management and L.W.

He has also done LL.B with labour law specialization. He has to his credit more than two and half

Being a trainer and OD expert himself he has also undergone specialized training program from

Thames Valley University, U.K. Besides working with Indian corporate houses like RPG Group and

Essar Group, Mr. Mishra has also worked as the Global HR Head with Zamil Steel Global and

Director-HR with the Netherland based company Bateman. He also worked in other countries both

as an employee and consultant with various companies in Japan, Europe, South Africa, Saudi

Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, UAE, Thailand, Ethiopia etc. and deeply studied the HR practices

Prior to joining Tata Steel he was working as a Senior Vice President and heading the Corporate

Human Resources function of the Company –Pipavav Defense & Offshore Engineering Company

building company in India and second biggest in Asia. He was also a Director in the Board of Pipavav

Technical Services (P) Ltd and Pipavav Business Management (P) Ltd. Earlier to Pipavav, he was a

part of Senior HR Team with Essar Group based out from Eastern India and instrumental in

introducing and setting up the company in Odisha and other areas in the eastern India. He worked

with Essar Projects India Limited (an Essar group company) as its GM & Head-HR for its projects in

Eastern India. During his stay in Japan he has been given the best consultant award by the Toyota

Production Systems Consultants, Tokyo. He was the elected president of National HRD Network,

Bhubaneswar chapter for a period of 02 years i.e. 2016-18. He has been awarded as the most

influential HR leader in the country in the year 2017 by World HRD Congress.

He also received the award “Outstanding Contribution to HR Profession” in the Employer Branding

Dr Igor Luksic Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Dr. Lukšič is professor of political sciences at University of Ljubljana. He was

editor of Teorija in praksa (Theory and practice), leading review of social and

political sciences, from 1995 to 2008 .He served as a Head of department of

political sciences (1997-1999), vice-dean (1999-2001) and the dean of the Faculty of social sciences

(2001-2003). His focus of research is on political culture, political system of Slovenia, political

doctrines, comparative political systems, and history of political ideas. He published seven books.

He was a minister of Education, and Sport (2008-20012).

Prof.(Dr.) A.K. Dey

Professor, BIMTECH, Greater Noida, India.

Dr. Dey is a Professor of Decision Sciences & Operations Management at Birla

Dr lLona Hunek Professor, Dept. of Business Strategy, Kozminski University, Poland

Prof. Hunek, PhD is an assistant professor at Kozminski University in Warsaw and

a visiting lecturer at University College Dublin. She lectures in negotiation,

international business and HRM, diversity management and talent management

in Poland, Ireland, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka.

Her research interests include MNCs from and in emerging economies, managing people in

Dr. Siti Zakiah Bt. Melatu Samsi Deputy Dean, Faculty of Business, Multimedia University, Malaysia.

Dr. Siti Zakiah Bt. Melatu Samsi is the Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Business,

Multimedia University. She started her career in MMU in 2008 after completing

her master’s degree in Information Technology – Management from Universiti

Teknologi Malaysia. She is currently teaching IT Service Management, Critical

Thinking in Organizations and E-Business. She obtained her professional certificate in Information

Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v3) in 2015.

Most of her research contributions are in the area of Collaborative Knowledge Management in

halal Supply Chain and Islamic e-Tourism. She obtained a few research funds from MMU internal

Mr. Parthajeet Das

Director, Africa, India & Middle East (AIM), Advisory Services,

Ernst & Young LLP, New Delhi.

Mr. Das has more than fifteen years of rich and diverse experience in education

sector – across primary, secondary, higher education, TVET as well as other social

sectors. He runs the advisory mandate for School Education across governments, multi-lateral

organisations, foundations and CSOs for EY in India and lead exceptional project delivery, business

and practice development. In the past he has worked at other top management consulting firms

and have led teams and developed functional expertise around policy, governance, programme

design and implementation, planning & budgeting, use of data/evidence, Public Private

Partnerships (PPPs), performance improvement, monitoring and evaluation and research.

He has strong interpersonal skills and also an effective communicator with excellent written and

presentation skills. He has authored a toolkit for ‘Improving School Education through Public

Private Partnerships (PPPs)’ released by Hon’ble President of India in 2010. He recently authored

Mr. Nishit Jain

Mr. Jain is an alumnus from the GEM, France having graduated with its

prestigious, Master in International Business (MIB). Prior to this he did his MBA

from New Delhi. He studied Economics at Delhi University and Fashion

management at NIFT, Delhi. For more than a decade now Mr. Jain has been involved in business

development activities for Education industry in India and Asia. He is in charge of helping EFMD

establish projects in India and neighboring countries in the South Asia to enhance visibility through

Ms. Amy Memon Manager, Accreditation Services, AACSB International, Mumbai, India.

Ms. Memon is Manager of Accreditation Services (Asia Pacific) for AACSB. She has

over a decade of experience working with AACSB’s member schools, and served as

the association’s special advisor in India for six years. Prior to her relocation to

Mumbai, India, Amy was Manager of Research at AACSB’s US headquarters, where

she contributed to research reports, including The Globalization of Business Schools and Impact of

Research: A Guide for Business Schools. Amy also represented AACSB at the UN Global Compact to

co-convene the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). She began her career at

AACSB developing and executing conferences and seminars across five continents.

Prof. M N Tripathi Professor and Associate Dean, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, India.

Dr M. N. Tripathi is a Chemical Engineer from NIT, Rourkela and is an alumnus from

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has worked for more than 23 years

in domestic and multinational companies, when in industry. His experience has largely been in

Sales and Marketing, with a brief stint in Logistics and Distribution.

As a Professor in the Marketing Faculty of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, Dr

Tripathi takes electives in Integrated Marketing Communication, Consumer Behaviour and Selling

and Negotiation apart from the core courses in Marketing. His research interests are in Consumer

Satisfaction, Customer Servicing, Negotiation and the influence of affect in consumer decision

making. He has written and presented several papers and cases published in national and

international forums in Marketing and other areas. His papers have been commended and he has

received the award of ‘best paper’ a number of times in international conferences. Presently he is

an Associate Dean of the Institute handling Career Advisory Services. He is a visiting faculty to XLRI,

Jamshedpur and Singapore and the EMBA Programme at the S. P. Jain Centre of Management,

Dubai. He has also been awarded as the ‘Best Professor teaching Marketing Management’ by ABP

News for 2014.

Dr Tripathi has also done consulting for a number of organizations such as Orissa State Cooperative

Bank Ltd, KIDS, BSNL, NACO and UNICEF. He is also an avid trainer and has conducted training

Prof. Arvind Sahay Professor of Marketing and International Business, IIM Ahmedabad, India.

Professor Sahay joined IIMA in June 2004 from London Business School where

he had been teaching since his Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Texas at

Austin.

Prof. Sahay is currently an independent director on the board of Brandscapes

Consultancy Pvt. Ltd, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC), HIL (A CK Birla

Group Firm) and Director on the board of IFCI Limited. He has worked with the working group on

Gold established by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India and

with the Niti Aayog Committee to Transform Gold Markets. As Dean(AER), he has led the fund

raising effort at IIMA and had helped raise more than INR 130 crores over 36 months. His strong

international orientation had also resulted in an increase in student exchange numbers from 120 to

180 over three years. As Chairperson (SBU Head) of Executive Education at IIMA He was able to

raise the revenues from INR 670 million to INR 920 million over two years (CAGR of 17%). He is also

the Chairperson of the India Gold Policy Center at IIMA is the Chairperson of the marketing area at

IIMA.

His primary areas of interest include marketing strategy, pricing, neuroscience and consumer

behavior, brand management, high tech marketing, international trade and investment. Sectorally,

he has worked extensively in pharmaceuticals, cement, building materials, telecom, broadcast,

automotive, FMCG, education and financial services sectors among others. At the Indian Institute of

Management, Ahmedabad, he has taught the basic marketing courses on the PGP, PGPX and PGP-

PMP programs. In addition, he offers elective courses on pricing, international trade, brand

management, neuroscience and consumer behavior, tracking organizational performance and

valuation, Fintech: Business Models, Strategy and Marketing and Doing Business in India. His

executive education and consulting clients come primarily from the financial services,

pharmaceutical, building materials conglomerates and media sectors. His teaching ratings are

consistently in the 9/10 range. His corporate experience includes stints as a management trainee in

the manufacturing sector and as a customer service and then account manager in the financial

services industry. He has consulted and done corporate training for more than 50 clients in India

and abroad. He has conducted programs for dealers in industries like cement, automotive,

pharmaceuticals and auto components.

Professor Sahay is the recipient of the University Wide Outstanding Dissertation Award from the

University of Texas at Austin (for his Ph.D. thesis), the Innovation in Teaching Award at London

Business School and of the Dewang Mehta Best Teacher Award in Marketing Management and the

UTV Bloomberg Best Marketing Professor in India. He was also nominated to the Thinkers50 India

list by the Institute of Competitiveness, Harvard Business School. He has been an invited speaker at

the Pricex Conference in Chicago, at the BusinessWeek Conference on E-marketing in London, at

the annual meetings of All India Management Association in Indore, at the Western Conference of

the Confederation of Indian Industry in Ahmedabad, at the CIO Forum, at the India International

Gold Convention and at the Indian Professional Business Network in Qatar. He is the coordinator

the FICCI Sub-Committee on Pharmaceuticals.

His recent research has been in the areas of brand relationships, tensile pricing, life cycles in

marketing, customer dimensions of gold in India, customer responses to dynamic pricing and how

and when to implement dynamic pricing, customer reactions to overlapping price ranges; impact of

bundling on customer reference prices; customer loss aversion at different price levels; impact of

price changes in pharmaceuticals in India on demand, brand advocacy, and brand preference

reversal due to cognitive load and discount framing. His latest papers appear in “Judgment and

Decision Making in 2017 and Journal of Global Marketing” in 2018 on the idea that there are limits

to loss aversion and to quantity changes in FMCG products before customers react.

Prof. Sahay has authored more than 50 cases and published in leading international journals like

the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of International

Business Studies, Sloan Management Review, Vikalpa, the Journal of Academy of Marketing

Science; Journal of Product and Brand Management, Judgment and Decision Making and Journal of

Indian Business Research. His paper in the Journal of Academy of Marketing Science is one of the

most widely cited papers in marketing. He has been a regular columnist for Outlook Business

magazine on marketing strategy and also writes occasionally for the leading Indian business

newspapers, Financial Express, and DainikBhaskar on gold, economics and business. He is the

author of a case book on marketing strategy called Cases in Pricing, Marketing Communications

and Distribution. He is currently working on a book on “Brands and the Brain.”

Dr. Sandip Anand

Professor, XIMB &,Founding Associate Dean, Doctoral Programs,

Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, India.

Prof. Anand is a Professor of Marketing at the Xavier Institute of Management,

Bhubaneswar, India. He has been the founding dean of doctoral programs at

Xavier University India. Other than XIMB, he has taught marketing courses at

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), IIM Ranchi, Shiv Nadar University and

has grown to the position of Manager HR before he was moved to Kolkata to serve at the Head

Quarters of Hindustan Paper Corporation for the next 4 years.

In 2011 after handling and acquiring a vast experience in Human Resource Development and

Industrial Relation in particular, he shifted from Hindustan Paper Corporation to BEML Limited,

Bangalore to head the Industrial Relation and Recruitment Department and later to head the

Personal Department of BEML’s first production unit, the Rail Coach Unit, Bangalore Complex. He

was instrumental in establishing the Centre of Excellence at Bangalore Complex.

Shri Debi Prasad Satpathy was key in leveraging IT in HRD by automating several HR activities such

as PMS, HOTO, Leave and movement Management, Exit Management to name a few. He has

actively involved himself in time bound review of HR policies and its implementation. He has the

credit of implementation Online Performance Test in BEML. He has involved in introducing the

Medical insurance for the new joiners. He was key in revision of pay and in various long term

University, New York, USA. Her research interests are in the area of turnaround management,

learning and its implications, organizational change, and human resource development. She has

presented a number of papers in national and international conferences.
