OBJECTIVE This Programme is designed for Participants with a good graduate background in computer science, information systems or other computing-related subject, with some knowledge of computer networks.. While information system in an organization has become a valuable asset of the organization, attempts to compromise it have also increased. The network attack attempts to compromise the confidentiality, integrity, availability, or to bypass security mechanism of a computer or network are increased. Interface 2010 is designed to cover relevant skills, secure software and hardware technologies, and the more practical studies that underpin everyday practice in Information Security. Participants will gain an understanding of the threats to business networks, information systems and servers. They learn to administer and manage business-critical distributed applications and configure relevant security options. They will be exposed to industry standard software and hardware systems for security management. The programme also provide hands-on training in current industry-standard tools for implementing security such as access control, authentication, encryption and key management, network attacks and defense mechanism, ethical hacking and forensic analysis. Participants are therefore able to contribute quickly to the well-being of corporate IT and informational assets. In addition, it ensures that Participants have a basic understanding of the international standards and legal and regulatory requirements that pertain to computer security in different nations. · Dr. G. ABOUT VJTI

The Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute was established in 1887..The V. J. T. I. started with only two departments, namely the Sir J. J. School of Mechanical Engineering and the Ripon Textile School for the two branches of industry in which Bombay was vitally interested at the time. The first step in the expansion of the Institute was taken in 1903 when courses in Electrical Engineering were introduced, later Technical & Applied Chemistry Department in 1906, Department of Sanitary Engineering in 1914, In 1913 by G. R. No. 1850 of 27th June, the institute was recognized by the Government of Bombay as the Central Technological Institute, Bombay Province. In the course of development, the bachelor degree courses in Textile, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering were started in 1946,1947 and 1949 respectively .Then the computer engineering department was added in 1986. VJTI Covers a sixteen acre campus at a prime location at Matunga. The present structure consists of a central administrative building, around which buildings for housing the departments have been constructed from time to time. The central building consists of the main administrative offices, the library and the auditorium. The dome of the building remains the most distinctive feature of the campus. Hostel facilities exist for about 550 students in block A,B, C and D. The hostel mess, Gymkhana and Saraswati Vachanalaya are managed by student committees. The institute is reputed for excellent training in courses in Engineering and Technology at Diploma , Degree, Post Graduate levels and Research. Presently VJTI is pioneered with B.Tech programmes in almost all core streams of engineering, 17 M.Tech programmes, and Ph.D programmes in various engineering disciplines. Since the time of inception, V.J.T.I. has been playing a very vital role in producing quality engineers, introducing new courses, framing syllabi and their examination schemes at the University level. In 1998, the Institute was renamed from its old name Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute to its present name Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute. The Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and was one of the fourteen institutes selected by the Central Government for further development with grant-in-aid from the Centre. Now VJTI has been selected as an autonomous institute under TEQIP.The department of computer technology has advanced labs in Networking, Multimedia systems, clustering and Web Engineering, MIS, Advanced Databases & Network Infrastructure Management Systems etc. Our students are the intelligent agents and run the student Association of Computer Enthusiasts for conducting the technical as well as nontechnical activities.
