The Track Issue is Packed with Info! This week’s issue of the Conference Catch-Up is packed full of information about each track that will be offered at this year’s conference. As always, we will have the collegiate track to serve the needs of our active sisters; the alumnae track for sisters who have earned their degree and moved on to the “next chapter” in their life; and the ambassador track to provide specialized training to sisters who are actively making a big impact at their university. Some other things going on at conference this year is the return of the New Member Boot Camp as well as the Graduate Member Educator (GME) Training. Each chapter is responsible for sending one ambas- sador and their NME for the upcoming year to these trainings. For alumnae, the GME Training is your chance to guide professional women through the process of becoming a sister of Kappa Delta Chi. Interested in becoming a GME? Contact Estee Hernandez to register. There is so much going on at this year’s conference! You won’t want to miss a single second! SO REGISTER YOUR ENTIRE CHAPTER TODAY! REGISTRATION CLOSES May 15th! Who are THOSE Girls? Claudia Garza (not pictured), Estee Hernandez (right), & Vanessa Trevino(left) are 3 names/faces you will want to be familiar with come June 22nd. These are the ladies who have taken on the task of creating programming that will best suit the needs of each member attending conference. (And pleasing the masses of penguins is no small task!) Each sister has carefully considered feedback and suggestions given since last year’s conference to design a weekend of workshops that is sure to please one and all. Estee Hernandez, Director of Alumnae Program, is a sister from Baylor University and has served for the past 2 terms as your VP of Alumnae Affairs. Her red hair might be the first thing you notice...if you weren’t already distracted by her bright smile and quick greeting to any sister she meets. Her enthusiasm for KDChi is sure to spill over into the over all feeling of this track. Vanessa Trevino, Director of Collegiate Program, hails from Alpha Chapter and is your current Chapter Programming Officer. She has put a lot of effort into listening to the word on the pen- guin street and has created workshops that are unlike any others offered before. Theta Chapter sister Claudia Garza, Director of Ambassador Program, is new to KDChi national leadership and is sure to make a splash this year with the ambassador track. She has ensured that these sisters have more time to enjoy the entire conference experience...I mean, after all, it’s a anniversary celebration! As you enjoy yourself in Lubbock, make sure you take a moment to greet the lovely women who spent a year customizing the perfect conference experience for sisters across the nation! For One and All! Since this year we are celebrating 25 years of sisterhood, the committee wanted to put a MAJOR

focus on sisterly bonding. So all day Friday & Sunday’s agenda and some of Saturday’s agenda

will bring all the tracks together to enjoy each other’s company. Look at the activities planned

below in the general agenda.

For the Past! Yes, I’m talking about our fabulous alumnae! There will be tons of special programming for

alumnae. Such as the Alumnae Boot Camp where you can whip your alumna knowledge into shape! Learn everything you need to know about being a alumna! Everything from what is the NAA to how to establish and grow an alumnae chapter in your city will be discussed. And

there will be two workshops designed to help empower your future. Law Knowledge for Women and You & Your Taxes will help alumnae meet all the adult issues they face down the road. There is something for everyone and we hope everyone will register today for this

amazing track!

For the Present!: Ask & You Shall Receive! Vanessa Trevino, Director of Collegiate Program, has spent hours on conference calls, talk-ing to chapter leaders, and listening to the voices of national leadership to design this year’s collegiate track. One major highlight in this year’s program is the workshop “Standing on the

Shoulders of Penguins”. “Sisters, kept saying that they wanted more time to just talk to one another and get ideas of what works and how different chapters solve problems.”, said Vanessa. So in this workshop, sisters will be broken down into smaller groups and allowed

to have open dialogue about challenges they face at their chapter and hear feedback from sisters across the nation. It is sure to be full of great solutions to everyday chapter issues.

For the Future! Each year chapter’s select one leader who they think will be a major player in the future of their chapter. That lucky lady is sent to the National Conference to receive special training and get a chance to meet national leadership one on one. However, this year the ambassa-

dors will get some down time to participate in Friday’s full day of sisterhood as well as Sat-urday’s service project. But there will be plenty of time to get everyone’s question’s an-swered with the return of the Penguin Chats program. Chapter ambassadors should email

their request for chats to Claudia Garza.
