railroad tank car transloading and locomotive fueling operations that is economical to install with minimal interruption to your railroad operations.

VERSATILEThe precast concrete Enviropan® standard pan width is 12` (6’ from center line of track). Although Century Group can manufacture its concrete spill collection pans in widths less than 12 foot, it is important to realize that the average railroad tank car and/or locomotive is approximately 10’ to 10’6” wide. When designing spill collection pan widths Century Group takes into consideration the chance of spillages during tank car transloading operations, especially when loading and/or unloading of liquids occur from the top of the railroad tank car. Depending upon the viscosity of materials spilled from the top of a railroad tank car, when traveling down the sides of the tank it may drip straight down which would have fluids hitting the ground 5’ to 6’ from center line of track. Spilled fluids can also splash and/or run down railcar ladders, platforms, hoses and other equipment. Click here for v. Sufficient width of your railroad spill containment system is also important when designing a railcar wash facility. Over the years it has been Century Group’s experience that a 12’ wide spill collection pan system provides adequate field side containment for most railroad tank car transloading, locomotive fueling and railcar wash operations. Also, the width of a spill containment pan is critical when considering locomotive fueling. Accidental overfills of side fuel tanks require a minimum of 12’ widths to insure that all fuel is contained. The Enviropan® standard pan sections are

offered in 10` lengths, and fits in railroad tracks with 115# rail sand larger. The Enviropan® is designed to fit in curved track up to 12 degrees, and can be coated to resist some of the harshest materials found in chemical refineries.

EFFICIENTThe Enviropan® has a tapered stainless steel flashing which fits snug up under the head of the rail to force materials dripped on rails into the pans. The flashing can be custom cut in the field to fit around rail joints. The Enviropan® is constructed with a built-in taper in all trackpans which helps eliminate the build-up and puddling of spilled materials. The built-in taper forces all materials to flow parallel with the rail to the transverse cross drains. The Enviropan® has built-in recessed lifting eyes for ease in handling and installation and can be installed without interruption or delay to rail traffic. The Enviropan® does not require any drilling or attachment to the rail or cross-ties unlike other types of railroad spill containment track pans.

DURABLEThe Enviropan® is built of high-strength reinforced concrete which does not flex, warp, or degrade under ultra-

violet light unlike (FRP) fiberglass drip pans. Its rigid structure along with a built-in taper prevents puddling of materials characteristic in other types of railcar track pan systems. The concrete Enviropan® system can be coated with special coatings to protect from caustics, acids and other highly reactive substances.

ECONOMICALThe Enviropan® railroad spill collection system is price competitive with other types of track pan systems. The fast and efficient installation of the modular concrete Enviropan® system saves money compared to poured-in-place concrete railroad spill containment systems.

LONG SERVICE LIFEUnlike many other types of rail car drip pans, the concrete Enviropan® system can be removed for routine track maintenance and re-installed efficiently without damage should your railroad spill containment system at your railcar loading platform need to be moved to a different location. The Century concrete Enviropan® system can be removed from your railroad loading racks and relocated to another location within hours.
