Development Process

Upon acceptance of the proposal, Lanex will schedule a project “Kick Off” meeting at a mutually-convenient time.

Kick-Off Meeting The purpose of this initial meeting will be to discuss the project as a whole, including design elements, functional aspects, and a general timeline. Specific topics which may be discussed at the kick-off meeting include:

Domain name acquisition, if necessary.

Functional aspects of the website which are particularly complicated, or, may require additional information.

(Optional) Search Engine Optimization and review of Internet Marketing Optimization report

Establishment of merchant accounts, or logins and ID’s that may be required for services such as Google Analytics.

Links to Social Media websites, if applicable.

Design elements for the new website, including: o Sources of imagery, including stock art or photography o Websites that you “like”, or feel work well from a navigational, color, or design standpoint o Websites that you don’t like, and don’t feel work well o Design approach for mobile devices, including responsive design, (if that option is selected.) o Creation of “funnels,” which are paths through your website to specific content o Layout and Template styles for sub-pages

Content which needs to be created, and approximate timelines for completion. (This is typically provided by the customer, or Lanex can provide a quotation for copywriting and assistance with content generation upon request.)

Dependencies – that is, items which need to be completed in a timely fashion, to aid in the expeditious implementation of the website.

Overall production schedule and deadlines.

“Design Comp” Creation Comprehensive Designs, known as “Design Comps,” are flat images created in the design process, meant to represent an example of what a website will look like upon creation. Website Design Comps are created using feedback, stock art, and imagery, collected from the initial kick-off meeting. In situations where there is a particularly complex design process, Lanex may recommend creation of a “wireframe”, which is a visual outline meant to confirm an understanding of the website, which helps conserve time in the design process. Design comps are typically forwarded in an email as a JPG image, and discussed in a review meeting, which may be held in the Lanex offices or your offices, to review the design. Based on this review process, Lanex will proceed with design revisions, and present them through email for approval. The Website Design Comp creation process will generally require some imagery or media for creation. In respect to photos, stock-art, and other image resources, they should be purchased or licensed for web use. In the case of in-house photography, and that type of content, it is recommended that releases be obtained from photographers and/or subjects of the images. Recommended image formats include:

Features and Usability

Multi-level Navigation in the website, maintained through a CMS, allowing easy maintenance of both

content and navigation.

Front-End Design, Programming, and Implementation Upon receiving approval of the design, Lanex will embark on the “Front-End Design” stage of the project. This process involves “splitting” the graphics, which means that the approved, visual design is broken into different elements and programmed into a series of templates. This stage is what allows for the creation of a website that functions with scrolling banners, drop-down menus, and other dynamic elements, links to Social Media such as Facebook or LinkedIn, and implements the design within the Content Management System. This process may involve additional splitting for layouts, as well as creation of templates utilizing a layout. Finally, in the case of a WordPress website, widgets and plug-ins will be implemented for specific features of the website. This may include features such as user management, SEO, “Contact Us” form, and other site-specific features. Upon completion of this phase, a link will be provided (e.g., http://yoursitename.lanexdev.com/) to the website for viewing and content population. Content Population, Site Testing, and Training Upon receipt of the development link or links, content population may begin. As part of this task, it is important to evaluate site structure, while preparing site content, to ensure navigation is built in an intuitive fashion, and content is linked appropriately. Lanex recommends that we perform the initial content population, and have provided an estimate for this effort under “Options” within this proposal. Whether Lanex-populated or you wish to populate the content yourself, material from images, Microsoft Word documents, or other source material are implemented into the Content Management System’s WYSIWYG (“What You See Is What You Get”) interface.

Training may be provided at any point during this process, and, in the event that the “content population” option is selected, is typically recommended after the initial site is populated. This allows site administrators to work with meaningful content, and allows them to more easily visualize the format of material on the website. Content Considerations

Content and outline for the site needs to be created in an intuitive fashion, and should highlight elements

that set your organization apart.

While Lanex performs in-house testing of a website, we rely on our customers for final testing and determination

that the website is ready to “go-live.”

Content Population, Site Testing, and Training Phase Deliverables

Deliverable Description

Lanex will provide a development link for testing and content population

Content Population Optional, if selected.

Copywriting Optional.

Training Lanex will provide two (2) hours of training for up to three people at the Lanex offices or remotely. Onsite training, at customer location, is optional, and will be quoted upon request.

Go-Live The “Go-Live” phase of the project will include final setting changes on the website to enable it to be set up as a production website. These changes typically include:

Enabling website to be viewed by search engines

Setting up DNS records, which allows the website to be viewed by other Internet users

Final changes to domain records so website is publicly viewable Upon “Go-Live” of website, ordering, contact forms, and other dynamic features, it is recommended that Lanex customers test their websites to ensure features are working correctly. Setup of “301 Permanent Redirects”

Due to the popularity of the current website, Lanex has budgeted time to set up permanent redirects for up to 25 links. These links will work as “address forwarding” and represent an address from the old website, and a corresponding reference to its location on the new website.

Go-Live Phase Deliverables

Live Website Lanex will make adjustments to set the website in a “live” mode. Lanex assumes active participation/of customer or existing vendor in updating domain records for transfer.

Project Management

Our Project Lead will ensure that you have one point of contact throughout your project, allowing for streamlined project completion. A corresponding “decision maker” should be designated as the Project Manager on your side of development. (This improves communication during the development process.)

Scope Change Management Additions or removal of features or activities will be identified and documented. Any additions or changes requested that are outside the scope described in this proposal will be billed on a time-and-materials basis, based on an hourly rate of $115.00/hour.

Issue Management Issues that arise during the course of the project will be addressed by the Project Lead. This individual will identify the “owner” responsible for resolving the issue, and track the issue to resolution. Once an issue is resolved, you will be notified of the solution.

Assumptions

1. Features not specifically identified in this proposal will be specified and quoted upon request.

2. Proposed plugins and their features should be reviewed by customer for approval. Lanex presents plugin

options as suggestions and has not necessarily used all plugins previously, and may not be familiar with all

nuances of their operation.

3. Plugins are not universally compatible with a responsive design. The manner that a plugin is implemented in a

responsive design will be dependent upon the plugin’s features and project budget.

4. This proposal assumes that proposed plugins will function as desired by customer without the need for

custom programming, except where custom development is specified in the proposal.

5. All initial and on-going costs associated with the use of any Google Products, Google Custom Search Engine or

other Google- or other outside- provided services will be the responsibility of the customer and are not

included in the quoted price.

6. Custom templates for Constant Contact (email list server service) or other such outside services will be quoted

upon request.

7. Social networking controls/links will be incorporated using third-party graphics and code selected by Lanex.

8. Customer is responsible for creating, migrating and populating content to the website. Lanex will populate

initial content as an option listed below, upon approval.

9. Lanex will extend its best efforts to work with you to establish a mutually acceptable production schedule.

Delays in receiving approvals, content, or other materials may delay project completion.

10. Stock Art and Photography are not included and will be quoted upon request. It is recommended that a

budget of $100 for Stock Art is sufficient for most websites.

11. Upgrades to WordPress and Plugins will be quoted on request. Pricing is subject to amount of plugins and

involvement of custom coding. Because of the nature of WordPress plugins, additional labor may be required

to preserve functionality across updates.

12. Search engine rankings and results can change upon the launch of a new website. Although we endeavor to improve your rankings through your new website, Lanex cannot promise any specific results. Often there may be a drop in rankings when the site first goes live, and this is usually temporary. Search Engine Optimization is offered by Lanex as an option and not included in the price of the website.

Timeline

A mutually acceptable project timeline for this project will be established with CFA upon approval of the proposal,

in order to accommodate existing work schedules of Lanex and CFA. Lanex will use its best efforts to ensure that

the work is completed on the agreed-upon timeline. Delays in receiving content, changes to project scope,

approving design comps, or other activities may impact the project timeline, and Lanex will notify CFA in that

event.

• Social media review or analysis • Suggested action plan The deliverable is a completely custom report typically of 10 pages or more containing an analysis of current Internet marketing and a strategy with specific action items and suggestions for going forward. If this option is selected, the report could be completed prior to the Kick-Off Meeting, in which case the SEO Strategist would attend the meeting. Or, if preferred, it could be discussed in a separate strategy meeting or teleconference at a later date, perhaps before the Content Population stage.

Initial Site Content Population

Lanex will populate the initial content for website pages. Typically, we will be able to populate approximately 2

content pages an hour with content provided in an electronic format such as Microsoft Word. However, image

manipulation/reformatting may require additional work, and, will be quoted in the event it is necessary.

Optional Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Our focus is on helping your website achieve results, which are generally defined as traffic, click-through rates, conversions, and/or relevant inquiries from potential customers. Below is an outline of optional SEM offerings.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Ongoing SEO involves the continual review and improvement of your website’s Internet presence. In the SEO process, we will regularly assess the rankings, inbound links, website structure, code, and content. We work to improve on-page SEO as well as implement the best overall website SEO strategies for the whole website. We offer SEO services by the hour or in an optional monthly ongoing package that fits your needs. Some examples are:

Researching and testing to find keywords that lead to conversions and qualified inquiries

Implementing those keyword strategies in the correct areas of your site (page titles, URLs, on–page, etc.)

Helping to create specific landing pages, contact forms, online coupon or discount codes for specific campaigns or products

Using appropriate analytic software for analysis and reports

Creating dynamic, XML-based site maps for search engines, allowing for optimal indexing

Implementing “Suggested Content” links to related content or calls-to-action that may not be reflected explicitly in the menu structure

If you sign up for a monthly package, SEO-related reports are made available to you monthly, such as keyword rankings and conversion tracking. All SEM/SEO work is completely custom-fit to your wants and needs, and, through it, we will focus on the continuous improvement of your site website through your stated goals.

Launch-time SEO Package

This option includes the set up and configuration of the main SEO/analytics tools that would be used at launch-time and beyond. These SEO tools provide ongoing website communication with, and feedback from, the search engines Google and Bing, as well as analytical information which is valuable for SEO work. This package includes:

Set up of Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Installation of a WordPress Plugin on your site called All-in-One SEO Pack.

Configuring All in One SEO Pack to communicate with Google and Bing, including submitting the XML site map to their Webmaster Tools. (Submitting the site map is an on-going process, as your website will change and grow, but once these tools are configured it will continue to do this job automatically, which is important because the search engines ideally should have the most up-to-date XML site map.) All in One SEO Pack has additional functionality for SEO; for more details go to http://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/.

Reviewing both Webmaster Tools accounts to make sure that the search engines are indexing your site. Review of any errors or feedback from the search engines.

Industry Regulations

Customers are responsible for managing regulations in their industry for data storage, data capture, data

retention, compliance, taxation and other issues. Lanex makes no representation that it is familiar with customers’

industries’ standards and regulations. Site modifications not covered in an initial proposal will be quoted upon

request.

Non-Payment of Hosting Fees

Lanex retains the right to deactivate websites with a past-due hosting balance. Lanex will make reasonable efforts

to contact a customer prior to deactivation of website. Collection fees may be charged on past-due accounts.

Warranty and Liability

Lanex, LLC will perform the work described herein (the “Work”) in accordance with the technical specifications

mutually agreed to between the parties. Upon completion of the Work, payment in full by the client, and upon

request, Lanex will provide Customer with a copy of the Work either on disk or via electronic transfer. You will

have 30 days after receipt thereof to accept the work or to notify Lanex, LLC that the Work does not comply with

the technical specifications. Lanex, LLC will make reasonable efforts to correct any such deficiencies. If no notice is

received within the thirty-day period, the client will be deemed to have accepted the Work.

Limited Warranty. Lanex, LLC warrants that the Work will perform in accordance with the technical specifications

for a period of 30 days from acceptance of the Work by Customer. The entire and exclusive liability and remedy for

breach of this Limited Warranty shall be limited to repair of the Work. Lanex, LLC specifically disclaims all other

warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for

a particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability. Your sole and exclusive remedies for any damage or loss in any way connected with the

Work, whether by Lanex, LLC's breach of any expressed or implied warranty, negligence, or any breach of any

other duty, shall be, at Lanex, LLC's option, repair of the Work or return for a refund of the price paid by you for

the Work. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AND UNDER NO LEGAL THEORY, TORT, CONTRACT, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL

LANEX, LLC BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY CHARACTER INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF

GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR ANY AND ALL OTHER COMMERCIAL

DAMAGES OR LOSSES, OR FOR ANY DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF THE PRICE PAID BY YOU FOR THE WORK, EVEN IF

LANEX, LLC SHALL HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY

OTHER PARTY.

Terms

Lanex requests a down payment of 50% upon acceptance of the proposal, and 50% upon completion of site
