From Trio Colibrí’s passion for Latin jazz (24), to The Kelly Park Big Band’s high energy performances (25), to the genre-busting Nell & Jim Band (31), May promises an eclectic mix of music at the California Jazz Conservatory!

Vocalists lead off the month, with Tammi Brown singing Lost American JazzBook (1) followed by Stephanie Crawford bringing her original vocal stylings to CJC (3). A Blues Vocal Jam (5) and a Vocal Jam Session (26) round out the month’s vocal offerings.

Pianos play a prominent role throughout May at CJC, with Randy Ingram in concert (4) and presenting a workshop with Drew Gress (4), plus Art Tatum’s Piano Style with Omree Gal-Oz (5) and Jazz Piano Masters with Larry Vuckovich (19).

May highlights also include a Super Chops Jazz Guitar Workshop with Mimi Fox (19), part 3 of our Percussion Series with Edgardo Cambon (19) and a variety of workshops, classes and concerts presented throughout the month to please every jazz fan.
