HOW TO PLAY

• Place a game token for each player at the start of the river, just off the bottom of the board.• Players take turns to roll the die, move forward and try to fill in the blank on a Gator Gaps card.• If the player is correct, they should return the card to the bot-tom of the deck.• If the player is incorrect, they must place the card in front of them. When a player collects three Gator Gaps cards (i.e. they have answered wrong three times) the gator snaps their boat in half and they have to return to the beginning of the river.• The winner is the first to reach the safe harbour at the top of the board.

ASSEMBLYTo assemble this game:

• Print out the game boards (pages 3-4). Trim along the dotted lines, laminate if desired and tape the pieces together.• Print out the game cards (pages 5-12) double-sided. Cut along the dotted lines and laminate if desired.• You will also need a die and a game token (eraser, small toy, etc.) for each player.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESThe music alphabet takes some practice for young beginners, espe-cially going backwards. Gator Gaps is all about filling in the blanks in the music alphabet so that students can use this knowledge to figure out notes/keys.
