GAME STYLE PROJECT
o Adjust or create a completely new style for an existing video game
o Use a production method based around solid research and rapid development to create well executed finals
o The new proposed content works well within the existing game
o Not enough of a change in art direction to be considered a “new direction”

• Overall “feel” of the current UI is simple, graphic, and tech oriented
• Icons, borders, and text all have a hologram-like effect that reflects the in-game props,
such as consoles, signs, door controls etc.
• The color pallet is consistent, using blue for most of the UI menus and icons, and red or
orange for alerts and other important information
• Action bars snap into the viewing area when activated and snap off when deactivated
• Inventory is a simple “compare and swap” variety

• Focus on further reflecting the game world within the UI
• Directed effort to ensure important information is easy to access
• Use martials that represent advanced technology like carbon fiber, exotic metals,
ceramics, and plastics to further blend the UI into the game world
• Displaying critical information in a minimal, yet effective format would enhance the
game experience

• Create a thirty second mock commercial concept to promote Google, intended to be run
during a television show of the creator’s choice
• The mock commercial will run during the show “ Modern Family”
• Project will include storyboard development, sample high quality frames, and sample color
key
• The proposed storyboards and high quality samples succeed in recreating the feel of
“Modern Family”
• Greater contrast in storyboards would have made them easier to read

Production Painting Project
• Create a movie poster based off an original story of the creators choice
• Use a production method based around extensive research, methodical asset selection
and evaluation, and constructive peer critique
• Ensure that the “soul” of the story is represented in the final image
• Final image does invoke a story
• Further refinements in depicting light and better use of lighting for dramatic effect would
make this piece stronger
The story is about a race of highly advanced robots called Shapers enslaved
through brainwashing to endlessly labor in an orbital factory. One individual is given
the chance to regain his identity, destroy their captor, and free his people.
• Robots are brainwashed and held captive on a giant orbital factory
• One robot is awakened by a AI
• Together they decide to free the rest
• Devise a plan to break free from their enslavers
• Through hardship and sacrifice, they are ultimately successful and free their
people
