Wind 776 warp threads 7 yd long using the Marine 16/2 cotton. Use your pre-ferred method to warp the loom, and thread and sley following the draft in Figure 1. Two threads are used as one warp end for each floating selvedge and for the first four ends on each side. Sley the rest of the warp 2 per dent in a 12-dent reed, centering for a weaving width of 32".

Wind one bobbin each of the Olive tabby weft, Melon pattern weft, and Burnt Orange pattern weft.

Spread your warp with plain weave using treadles 6 and 7, then insert your temple. The 3-pick shuttle sequence throughout the fabric is Melon-Burnt Orange-Olive. Starting with the Melon pattern weft, treadle following the trea-dling sequence in the draft, Figure 1. As you use each shuttle, place it the fur-thest away from you, keeping the shut-tles in order as you weave. You will know you have finished a 3-pick se-quence when the Melon shuttle is again closest to you. Note that each 3-pick

sequence is not repeated the same number of times. Tape a copy of the treadling sequence (including the tabby) to your loom for reference. It may take some time, but eventually you will memorize the treadling sequence. For ease of treadling, this fabric is woven with the wrong side up.

Weave to your desired length. Remove fabric from the loom and secure the raw edges by machine zigzagging or serging.

Wash the fabric on the gentle cycle of your washing machine using ¼ cup of Orvus Paste. Fold the fabric loosely be-fore placing it into the washing ma-chine to prevent twisting. Dry for about 20 minutes in a dryer on low heat. Hang over a pole to finish drying.
