Illustration GroupThe Illustrations group allows you to add graphics

to your document.1. Picture – Add a picture from a file2. Clip Art – Add clip art from the gallery3. Shapes – Use drawing tools to create a graphic4. Smart Art - Represent a bullet list as a diagram of

interconnected shapes. With SmartArt, you can create List, Process, Cycle, Hierarchy, Relationship, Matrix, and Pyramid diagrams.

5. Chart – Add a chart to your document.6. Screenshot – Inserts a picture of open window

ShapesClicking on shapes will

bring up a list of predefined shapes

Click on the shape you want and then sweep the size and location of the shape in your document.

A text box is simply a shape that can hold text. Once you draw the shape,

right click and select Add Text

ShapesThese shapes are

completely resizable. Just drag the handles. But be careful. Dragging a corner handle will not keep the shape's proportions! Hold down the SHIFT key while you drag a corner handle to keep a shape's proportions.

The “green dot” at the top of the image allows you to rotate that image.

Drawing Tools Format RibbonOnce a shape has been added to the document,

then the Drawing Tools Format ribbon is displayed

The ribbon allows you to:1. Add a new shape2. Select a Shape Style (sets color, shading,

effects, etc.)3. Edit WordArt Styles4. Set the text alignment and direction5. Arrange the shape in the document6. Set the size

Drawing Tools – Arrange Group

Position or Text Wrap: Allows control over how the graphic will appear with respect to the text around the graphic

Drawing - OrderSometimes you need to

change the stacking order. That is to change which shape is on top of another shape

To change the order you use the Bring to Front and Send to Back drop downs.

Drawing - GroupingGrouping is a way to lock items

together You should group objects that

should stay to together. That way you won't accidentally mess up the arrangement you worked so hard to get just right. It’s also much easier to move objects that are grouped together.

Select the items you want together Home tab, Edit Group, Select, Select

Objects

Click Group | Group.To ungroup simply select the

graphics and do Group | Ungroup.

Drawing – WordArt

WordArt can help you create attractive logos and fancy text to really catch the reader's eye. This program is accessed from the Text group on Insert tab in the Word ribbon.

Note: Your WordArt text is not regular text. It can be edited only with WordArt. Spell check won't see it as any more than it would a picture of a tree. So be careful with your spelling when you create WordArt!

Drawing – WordArtWhen you use WordArt, you are actually

creating a drawing object. Like imported images and drawing objects, a WordArt object has handles that you drag to resize. In fact you can use all the Drawing tools on your WordArt. Start WordArt by clicking on the insert ribbonA style gallery appears where you choose the letter style. This changes based on the style of the document.

On of the ways to make WordArt interesting is to add a transform.
