We don’t just sit and play games all day, just like we
don’t just sit down and write or read all day.
They know it’s a game but they don’t think it is learning.
Competition effect!The children record their scores each time and there's been a marked increase in scores.
The children want to compete against themselves…
Good at games: mobile learning proves a hit in schools"In the domain of the school the teacher has all the status, knowledge and mastery,“ …….. "Traditionally, children have just been visitors in that domain. In a game it's the children who have the mastery, status and expertise.
What we are trying to do is to get the school domain and the games domain to overlap".
