General OperatinG instructiOns• Alwaysinspectyourbowthoroughlybeforeeachshootingsessiontoinsurethatitisingoodworkingorder.Checkforworn,looseormissingcomponentsandhavethemreplacedatanauthorizedPSEdealerasrequired,i.e.bushings,spacers,etc.

• Inspectyourarrowstoinsurethattheyarestraight,undamagedandthateachnockisingoodcondition.Acrackednockcanbreakwhenfiredfromthebowandcausethebowto“dryfire”resultinginpossibleinjurytothearcheranddamagetothebow.Dry-firingisdrawingandreleasingthebowstringwithoutanarrowonthestring.

• Whenpurchasingarrowsforyourbow,consulttheselectionchartfromthearrowmanufacturerandselectthecorrectarrowforyourapplication.Alwaysuseanarrowthatisatleast5grainsperpoundofpeakbowweight.Failuretodosocouldcausepersonalinjuryanddamagetoyourbow.

BOw MaintenanceYourPSEbowwillgiveyoumanyyearsofuseifmaintainedandcaredforproperly.IMPORTANT:BeforeservicinganyPSEbowinabowpress,backouteachlimbbolt4completeturnsfrombottomedposition.• Keepsyntheticcablesandstringswaxed.Applybowstringwaxtoyoursyntheticcablesandstringbeforeeachshootingsession.

• Stringsandcablesmustbereplacedperiodically.Aworncableorstringcansuddenlybreakcausingseriousinjurytothearcheranddamagetothebow.Itisrecommendedthatthestringandcablesbereplacedatleastevery5,000shotsor12months.

• Alwaysstoreyourbowinacooldryplace.Hightemperatures,suchasthosethatcanoccurintheinteriorofavehicle,cancauseseriousdamagetoyourbow.

• Afteruseinhighhumidityordampconditions,wipemetalcomponentsofbowwithalightoil.

InstallthecableguardasshowninFigureA.Adjustthecableguardsothecablesjustclearthearrowvanes.Onbowsusinganoffsetcableguardrod,adjustmentsmustbedonewiththerodintheupposition(approximately1o’clock)asshowninFigureB(11o’clockforlefthandedbows).Over-rotatinganadjustablecableguardcreatesexcessivearrowclearanceandmaycausethecabletotrackincorrectlyonthewheelsandcausepersonalinjuryand/ordamagetothebow.

1. Removethesetscrewsfromthebaseusinga1/16”hexwrench.2. InstalltheBackstop™intothethreadedholebelowthe griponthestring-facingsideofthebow.3. installatiOn Of accessOriesArrowrest/Overdraw:Thearrowrestoroverdrawshouldbeinstalledaccordingtotheinstructionsreceivedwiththeproduct.Itisusuallymountedtotheriserinthethreadedholeonthesideoppositetheshelf(hole“A”)usingthehardwareprovidedwiththearrowrestoroverdraw.Sight:Thesightshouldbeinstalledaccordingtotheinstructionsreceivedwiththeproduct.Itisusuallymountedtotheriserinthethreadedholes(holes“B”)onthesideoppositetheshelfusingthehardwareprovidedwiththesight.Somebowsareequippedwithmultiplesightmountingholeswhichallowthesighttobemovedupordown.Stabilizer:Thestabilizershouldbemountedaccordingtothemanufacturer’srecommendation.Itisusuallymountedinthethreadedholeonthefrontoftheriser(hole“C”).BowSling:Thebowslingattachestotheriserofthebowgenerallywiththestabilizer.Ifastabilizerisnotused,attachtheslingtotheriserwiththecorrectsizedboltusingtheholeprovidedforthestabilizer(hole“C”).

Other adjustMentsDrawWeight:Yourbowisfactory-settowithin2lbs.ofthepeakdrawweightindicatedonthelabelonthelowerlimbofthebow.Changesindrawweightcanbemadebyturningthelimbboltinorout.Beforemakinganychangesinweight,turnthelimbboltclockwisetothebottomposition.Neveruseextremetorquewhenturningtheboltordamagetothelimbmayoccur.Thelimbboltthenmaybeturnedcounterclockwisetoobtainthedesiredweight,butNEVERmorethan4turnsorrevolutionsformostbows.ExceptionstothisaretheMiniBurner,Discovery2,BarracudaoranybowwithaCenterLockPocketwhichcanbebackedout6turnsfrombottom.Adjusteachlimbexactlythesame.CAUTION:Onsomebowmodels,thelimbboltlockingscreworpockettanglockingscrewMUSTbeloosenedBEFOREadjusting.Wheels/Cams:ManyPSEwheelsandcamshaveadjustablefeatures.Eachonecomesfromthefactoryset-upandreadytousebuttheremaybeoccasionswhereyouneedtoadjustthecharacteristicsofyourbow.InsomecasesyouwillneedaPSETuneCharttodeterminewhattoadjust,andyoumayneedtoseeaPSEDealerforinformation.Ifyouarenotsureoftheadjustmentyouaremaking,stopandseeyourPSEDealerforassistance.Inmanycases,anappropriatebowpresswillbeneededtomakeadjustmentstocamsandwheels.Ifyoudonothaveanappropriatepress,seeyourPSEDealer.

caM adjustMents Cam ORIEntatIOn: Oncamswithorientationmarks,areferencemarkisfoundtoindicateanapproximateorientation.Thislineisforreferenceonlyandismeanttogiveapproximateorientationonlyandmayvarybetweenbowmodels.Theorientationofthecamsmaybechangedslightlybytwistingoruntwistingthestringorcable.Ifattachingthestringtothe“+”orthe“-“post,theorientationmarkswillnotbealignedwiththecable.DRaw LEnGth: StRInG POSt aDJUStmEntS SomePSEcamshavestringpostadjustmentsfordrawlength.Forminorchangesindrawlength,thebowmustbeplacedinasuitablebowpressandtensionrelievedfromthestringandcable.Thestringsideofthecammayhaveadditionalposts.Movingthestringfromthepostwiththedottothepostwiththe“+”willincreasedrawbyapproximately¼”.Movingthestringfromthepostwiththedottothepostwiththe“-“willdecreasedrawbyapproximately¼”.

aLL InnER CamS:

Theinnercamsystemallowsdrawlengthadjustmentsoveraprescribedrangewithoutputtingthebowinabowpress.Therearetwotypesofinnercamsystems:discretesettinginnercamsandPosi-Lockinnercams.

Discretesettinginnercamshavetheadjustmentscrewsgoingthroughaspecificholeintheinnercamandthreadingintothecam.Thescrewsneedtobecompletelyremovedtomakeadjustments.The“A”settingisthelongestdrawlengthforthatbowanddrawlengthsgetshorterasyouprogressdownthealphabet(AtoB,BtoC,etc.)

PosiLockadjustableinnercamsareadjustablein½”drawlengthincrements.The“A”settingisthelongestsettingforthecam.Drawlengthsgetshorterasyouprogressdownthealphabet(“A”to“B”,“B”to“C”,etc.)byroughly½”perletter.

Itmaybenecessarytoswitchinnercamsfromtheinnercammarked“ACEGIK”totheinnercammarked“BDFHJL”toachievethedesireddrawlengthadjustment.Tomakeadjustments,removebothoftheadjustmentscrews.Determineifthesettingyourequireisonthe“ACEGIK”innercamorthe“BDFHJL”innercam.Alignthemarkonthecompressionplatetothelineonthecamwiththeappropriatemarking(“A/B”,“C/D”,“E/F”,etc).Attachtheselectedinnercamtothecammakingsurethatthealignmentpinandbothmountingscrewsarealignedtotheirmatingholes.Tightenthemountingscrewsandmovethedrawstoptothepositionwiththematchingsetting(“A”and“A”,“B”and“B”).

Incaseswherethereisaninnercamonboththetopandbottomcam,bothcamsmustbesetinthesameletterpositionforthebowtotuneandshootproperly.Incaseswherethereisaseparatedrawstop,thedrawstopmustbemovedtotheholemarkedwiththelettercorrespondingtotheinnercamsetting.

StOP aDJUStmEntS: DRaw StOP:Thepositionofthedrawstopmustmatchthesizeofthemodule.Forexample,ifthecamisequippedwithanumber7module,thedrawstopmustbeplacedinoneofthedrawstopholesmarkedwitha“7”.Iftheinnercamisinthe“B”setting,thestopmustbeinthe“B”position.Certainhybridcamshavetopandbottomstops.Theycanbeshotwithbothstopsforaharder“wall”orwithonlythetopstopforasofter“wall”.Nevershoothybridcamswiththetwostopoptionwithonlythebottomstop.Ineithercase,thestopsneedtobeintheholesmarkedwiththesamemarkingastheinnercamsetting.TheUltraFast(UF)hybridcamsystemhastwovalleysettings-longandshort.Whenusingtopandbottomstopsforahard“wall”bothstopsneedtobeinthesameholedesignation-longorshort.

LEt-Off: Let-offadjustmentispartofthedrawstop.Toadjustfromhighertolowerlet-off,removethedrawstopfromthehigherlet-offholeandreinstallitinthelowerlet-offholeofthecorrespondingmodulenumber.Forexample,ifthecamisequippedwithanumber7modulethestopmustbereinstalledintheholemarked“7”intherowmarkedwiththelowerlet-offsetting.Changingtolowerlet-offwillshortenthedrawlengthasmallamount.

StaGE 3™:DRaw LEnGth:Thedrawlengthisadjustedbyplacingthebowinanappropriatebowpressandrelievingthetensionfromthestringandcables.Movethestringtotheslotthatwillshortentheeffectivelengthofthestringtoshortenthedrawlengthby½”perwheel.Movethestringtotheslotthatwilllengthentheeffectivelengthofthestringtolengthenthedrawofthebowby½”perwheel.

fC fLEXIBLE Cam InStRUCtIOnSTheFCcamsystemconsistsof2camswithrotatinginnercamsforadjustingdrawlength.Inaddition,thecamdesignhastwodrawweightsettings.IntheFixedPeakWeightsettingthepeakdrawweightstaysthesameregardlessofthedrawlengthsetting.IntheGrowWithYousettingthepeakdrawweightgetslighterasthedrawlengthisadjustedshorter.

DRAWLENGTHADJUSTMENT:

Theinnercamhasholesmarked“A”through“J”foradjustingdrawlength(seeFigure1)aswellasasetofthreadedholesmarked“S”and“L”.The“L”holesareusedforlongerdrawlengthsandthe“S”holesareusedforshorterdrawlengths(seeFigure2).Seethetableforthesettingrequiredtoachievedifferentdrawlengthsandweight.

Tomakethenecessaryadjustment,removethescrewholdingtheinnercaminplaceandrotatetheinnercamsothelettersettingdesiredlinesupwiththethreaded“L”or“S”holeinthecam.Replaceandtightenthescrew.ITISIMPORTANTTHATBOTHTOPANDBOTTOMCAMSBEADJUSTEDTHESAME.Theseadjustmentscanbemadeeitherwithorwithoutabowpress.

WEIGHTADJUSTMENTS:

For“FixedPeak”weightsettingseachcablemustbepulledoverthebossonthecamandplacedinthegrooveontheboss(seeFigure3).Forthe“GrowWithYou”weightsettingpullthecableoverthebossoneachcamtoallowthecabletoridebehindthebossasshowninFigure4.Seethetablefordetailedadjustmentinformation.Nobowpressisneededtomaketheseadjustments.

asyMMetric idler

PSEhastwotypesofpocketsystems:hardstoppocketsandvibrationdamperpockets.Hardstoplimbpocketshavea“bottomed”positiontodeterminepeakweight.Thispositioniswherethelimb,pocketandrisercontactoneanotherandcannotbeadjustedfurther.Vibrationdamperpocketshaverubberinbetweenthelimbandpocketandtheriser.The“bottomed”limbpositionisnOtwhenthelimbscontacttheriser.Thebottomedpositionforvibrationdamperpocketsiswherethebottomsurfaceofthelimbisapproximately.20”(3/16”or5mm)awayfromtheriser.Thelimbboltmaybeadjustedtoslightlyincreasethedrawweight,butthegapbetweenthelimbandrisermustneverbelessthan0.15”(4mm).

IMPORTANT:Donot“bottom”thelimbsagainsttheriseronabowequippedwithvibrationdamperpockets!

SomePSEbowsareequippedwithaspecialasymmetricidlerwheel,whichisassembledonthetoplimb.Itisessentialthattheidlerbeorientedproperly.Thewideedgeoftheidleralwaysgoestothecableguardsideofthebow.Theillustrationshowstheproperorientationoftheidlerforaright-handedbowwhenviewedwhileholdingthebowasitisshot.

Ifyoursolidlimbbowisequippedwithlimbbands,theproperplacementofthebandsisapproximately1/8”beyondthelimbfork.Ifyoursplitlimbbowisequippedwithlimbbands,theproperplacementofthebandsisatleast1/4”awayfromthecam(alignthebandwiththeendofthelimbgraphic).

Backthelimbboltsout4turnsfromthebottomsettingandpositionthepressurepointsontheriserasclosetothelimbsaspossibleWITHOUTmakingcontactwiththelimbsasshowninthephoto.Thepressurepointsmustnotcontactthelimbsatanytimeduringservicing.

STRINGS AND CABLES Applyalightcoatofhighqualitybowstringwaxtoyourstringandcableeachtimeyoushootyourbow.ItisespeciallyimportantNOTtowaxtheareaofthestringthatwrapsaroundtheidlerwheel.Thisareaofthestringshouldbetreatedwithacamlubricant.Thiswillhelpreducewearonyourstringandcables.Inspectthestringandcablesregularlyandreplacethemwhenthereisevidenceofwear,every5000shotsorevery12months.

USING A BOW PRESS ALLXTechnologybowsMUSTbeservicedinanapprovedbowpressandrequirespecialconsideration.Donotattempttoservicethesebowsinanybowpresswithoutreviewingtheproceduresdescribedherein.

Therearetwobasictypesofapprovedpressesavailable:compression-typeandpull-type.

COMPRESSION-TYPE BOW PRESS:

Thistypeofpresspushesinahorizontaldirectionagainstthetipsofthelimbs.Noothersupportforthebowisrequired.

Whenusingapressofthistype,backeachlimbboltout4turnsfromthebottomsetting,positionthebowinthepressandcrankpressinwardtoapplyacompressionforceagainstthelimbtipsasshown.
