Part-time work

I started working for Radius Medical Centre in 2010, as a receptionist. Since starting to studying Occupational Therapist, I changed my role from full time work to part time. This is apart of my occupational identity, as I work every Sunday and Monday, from 8am to 4pm. This helps provide an income while studying. [Untitled photograph of radius medical logo]. (n.d.).

Baking

For special occasions I like to make cupcakes or cakes. This creates my identity as to me is a skill that I have learnt and can make these as gifts and treats for other people.

Life roles

I am now an expectant mother, this creates my occupational identity as my role will change to looking after another person, I will now have more responsibilities and all my decisions I make will be made around my baby.

Travel

Travel is apart of Occupational Identity, as I have been to many different countries, when I did a tour with my grandmother

Older Sister

On the 26th of January 2013, I watched my beautiful little sister come into the world. For the last 22 years I have been an only child, and now my occupational identity has changed to being an older sister, as I now engage in different occupations, that involve her. Such as, feeding her, bathing, putting her to sleep and playing with her.

Netball

Before, finding out that I am pregnant I played social netball on Saturdays. This also took a lot of time as trainings were twice a week, and then for Saturdays we would do a warm up, play for 40 minutes, then a cool down. This was a part of my identity as I like to keep physically fit and engage in sports [Untitled photograph of netball]. (n.d.).

Knitting

Recently, I have started to learn knitting, this was discussed in an Occupational Science tutorial about a learnt occupation. I considered knitting as it is something I have always wanted engage in. This is now apart of my identity as I spend 2 hours a night on this occupation.

Party Planner

In the holidays, me and my aunty plan different parties for numerous people. This is a baby shower that we planned for a family friend. This is a part of my occupation as other people know about the parties we do on a budget, and ask us to help create their special day.
