Intended audienceAn interactive symposium designed for general, bariatric, trauma and plastic surgeons involved in complex abdominal wall hernia reconstructions.

Course descriptionThe purpose of the educational event is to facilitate discussion on successful solutions for managing complex abdominal wall hernia repairs and to understand the proper use of Phasix™ Mesh. Discussion will include a review of preclinical and clinical data, science and technology of products, economics of AWR and various techniques for repairing abdominal wall hernias.

Surgeons will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on cadaver lab under the direct supervision of the program faculty.

Educational objectives• Review current literature for hernia repair techniques,

materials and patient management strategies

• Gain new insights into advanced surgical techniques for abdominal wall hernia repairs

• Demonstrate use of BD products in hernia repair
