Am I eligible? • Graduates of Baltimore City high schools regardless of income, GPA, or immigrant status. • Students must be Baltimore City residents during their senior year of high school and while attending BCCC. How do I apply? Enroll in the fall after graduation from high school. Complete a FAFSA form no later than the State’s priority deadline March 1 at https://fafsa.ed.gov and select BCCC code 002061.* • Complete the BCCC admissions application at www.bccc.edu/admissions by April 2018. • Fill out the Mayor’s Scholars Program application at https://mayorscholarsprogram.baltimorecity.gov. Participate in YouthWorks summer employment program. Apply at https://youthworks.oedworks.com. What expenses does the Mayor’s Scholars Program cover? • The Mayor’s Scholars Program covers BCCC tuition and college fees**. • It does not cover textbooks, transportation, food, etc. What BCCC programs will be covered by the scholarship? You must remain in good academic standing and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA. How long is the scholarship good for? The Mayor’s Scholars Program is available for 150% or up to 3 years to complete the degree of a student’s chosen program at BCCC (equivalent to a 2-year degree). Can I attend a four-year college for free after graduating from BCCC? Coppin State University has offered to provide scholarships to Mayor’s Scholars who graduate with an associate degree from BCCC. Depending on student grades and other met criteria, students may be eligible for scholarships and grants at various colleges in the State of Maryland and around the country.
