Hotels

• Hotels are business premises which provide the basic facility of food & beverage.

• And also accommodation.• An establishment can not be called

hotel any if one of the two factors missing.

• Depending upon facilities provided the category of the hotels vary from 2 star to 5star.


Hotel


Motels

• This are the hotels located at the highway sides which cater mainly to the travellers.

• This are not expensive as the luxury hotels or business hotels.

• They provide facilities like vehicle parking refueling and garage along with the basic accommodation.


Resorts

• This are hotels located at places far away from the city.

• Mainly at seaside and hill stations.• The stay of guest is longer. • This hotels provide kitchen facility

in the room.


Floatels

• This are generally the floating boats which provide the facility of food and beverage.

• And accommodation.


Guest house

• This provide facility of food and beverage along with accommodation.

• The standard of accommodation is not good as hotel or resort.

Lodges

• This provide facility of accommodation only here expense are much moderate as comparison to hotel.

Circuit house

• This are like guest house but the standard is comparatively high.

• This are generally are owned by state government and are used by house government officials and politicians.


Youth hostels

• This are not elaborated as hotels or motels in the standard of food and accommodation.

• They are much cheaper than hotels.

• Provide the basic necessity of accommodation and food.


Non residential hotel

• These are business premises that provide the facility of food and beverage.

• Not the accommodation


Non residential hotel includes

• Restaurants• Bars• Fast food outlet• Discotheque• Pastry shop• venders


Restaurant

• A normal multi-cuisine.• They may have décor• according to the food belonging to

a particular region.• They are generally more expensive

than a multi-cuisine.


Bars

• The establishment serve only alcoholic beverages.

• They may attached to hotel or independently existing.

• Bar can be opened only at places which are permitted by the authorized government bodies.


Discothèques

• This provide facilities to large gathering people to dance along with a music played by DJ.

• A small bar is attached to a discotheque very limited sitting arrangement is provided.

• Some discotheque may given entry to couple.


Pastry shop

• They may be attached to a hotel or may be indepednantly existing.

• They generally deal with bakery & pastry products.

• They may not or may be having sitting arrangement.

• Service area are separated from kitchen by glass partition.


Venders

• They are generally present at railway platforms & mainly roadside.

• They also deals with food and non alcoholic beverages.

• They generally cater to financially weaker section of the society.
