COMPANYS PROFILE Malwa Cotton Spinning Mills, the Delhi based company was promoted in 1976 in the Joint Sector by the PSIDC and Oswal Woollen Mills to manufacture acrylic yarn and cotton yarn. The company has put up a plant with 24200 spindles capacity to process cotton and acrylic yarn in Barnala, Punjab. The commercial production was commenced in March 1981. The company has envisaged a new project of 11040 spindles at its existing premises during 1983-84. In 1988-89, it set up a 7680-spindle unit at Paonta Sahib. In 1989-90, the company installed 9,600 spindles to manufacture yarn from man-made fibre. Simultaneously, modernisation of the unit was taken up to enable the production of quality cotton and polyester yarns, mainly for exports. In 1990-91, it undertook a project to set up a 10,080-spindle EOU. In 1995-96, the Paonta Sahib unit completed the project of 24,192 spindles at a project cost of Rs 46 cr and the company has taken in hand implementation of a 100% EOU at the Barnala unit in Punjab to manufacture cotton yarn with a capacity of 25,200 spindles at a project cost of Rs 48 cr which was financed by a term loan of Rs 32 cr and internal accruals of Rs 16 cr. In 1996-97, 13104 spindles have been installed and started commercial production. The Company has put up a Dyeing House at village Harian, Kohara Machhiwara Road, Distt. Ludhiana with capacity of 12 tonnes per day. The total project cost of the unit was Rs.18.65 Crores. Of the 9900 Spindles which was planned by Worsted unit only 5040 were installed at a cost of RS.27.25 crores. Since the Acrylic yarn market was depressed for quite sometime the company has withheld the installation of spindleage.

PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES

Mohan Dai Oswal Charitable Cancer HospitalAs part of its philanthropic activities, Malwa also runs a fully equipped charitable Cancer Hospital at Ludhiana (Mohan Dai Oswal Charitable Cancer Hospital), which is the country's second largest Cancer Research & Care Hospital.

Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Institution is doing a great service to the patients suffering from dreaded disease of cancer. Besides this it has acquired the status of the postgraduate institute for having been affiliated by the Diplomat National Board in various specialties for the post graduate courses.

Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment & Research Foundation was established in 1984 as a charitable institution  to

extend comprehensive quality treatment for cancer to the masses at an affordable price. It is a 300 bedded hospital

located on the Amritsar - New Delhi G.T. Road near Sherpur bye pass, Ludhiana. It is housed in a  multistoried building.

Patient care area is approx. 16,000 sq. Yards spread over 4 floors. In addition there is a  mechanical laundry, a

workshop, shopping areas, residential accommodation for medical, nursing & paramedical  staff and a sarai for poor

patients (Free of cost stay).

MALWA INDUSTRIES LIMITED (MIL) - Denim arm of the Malwa Group.In 1997, Mr. Rishi Oswal, the scion of the Oswal family and the Managing Director of Malwa Industries Limited started the denim manufacturing facility in response to the increased market demand for Jeans in the 1990's. Commercial operations started in FY97-98 and since then the company has been growing at a fast pace. Malwa's premier denim manufacturing plant is located at Ludhiana in the Punjab region, the heart of the Indian cotton producing belt. The Italian venture (Emmetre) is a fully automated state-of-the-art facility for Garment Dyeing & Finishing. The facility brings to Malwa's fold, prized knowledge of emerging fashion trends in denim making MIL a trendsetter by virtue of this knowledge. This facility also adds 2.5million pieces annually in capacities to Malwa's denim stable.

OSWAL KNIT INDIA LIMITED - Company Profile

Oswal Knit India Limited, established in 1993, introduced international-class winterwear under the brand name of ‘CASABLANCA’ and in a very short span it started being reckoned among the leading brands of India. 

In 2009, GADONI OF ITALY an internationally renowned brand in leisurewear got associated with our company to launch their products in the Indian market. We are manufacturing and marketing complete range of their garments for the Indian market. With the launch of Gadoni winterwear, a new aura of sophisticated and subtle garments was unleashed for the premium segment of the Indian consumers.

A State-of-the Art plant comprising of the most sophisticated and latest technology computerised knitting, stitching and finishing machines from Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Spain has been put up at Ludhiana which is constantly upgraded.
