In 1998, Mimos Smart Computing Sdn Bhd(MSCSB) was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of MIMOS Berhad for installing and supplying computer equipment to government departments and schools in Malaysia.

As one of the leading computer providers in Malaysia, MIMOS Smart Computing (MSCSB) assembles a comprehensive range of computers (desktop & notebook)to suit market needs - from corporate to business to home customers.

HISTORY

First established on 1 January 1985 as the Malaysian Institute of Microelectronic Systems as a unit in the Prime Minister's Office, MIMOS evolved into a full-fledge organization under the Ministry of Science,

Technology and Environment in 1990.

In November 1996, MIMOS underwent a "corporatization" exercise to further empower the

organization with greater flexibility to create value-added innovations for industry, society and the

nation, thus MIMOS Berhad was born.

MSCSB was the first Intel OEM in South East Asia and the 1st Microsoft OEM in Malaysia.

Main provider of computers to government agencies in Malaysia and the major vendors in PosMalaysia's Odasaja EPF Computer Purchase Scheme.

Reinforced by the award of the “Central Contract" with the Government of Malaysia, in 2001 and 2005 for the supply of computer hardware by leasing contract.

HISTORY

At the end of 2008, leveraging more than 10 years of experience MSCSB has initiated its own

operation and is no longer under MIMOS Berhad. MSCSB now is a wholly owned by

Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc)

In 1999, we were one of the Top 10 computer providers in Malaysia. Just two years later, in

2001, we managed to become one of the Top 3 computer providers.

MSCSB change it’s name to Mutiara Smart Sdn Bhdto reflect on the new business ventures and direction.
