Welcome to SILICA.Overview.
SILICA is more than just a semiconductor
distributor. We provide a comprehensive
range of semiconductor products from
25 leading manufacturers, together with
in-depth design support and extensive
customer service. As an Avnet Company,
our linecard is provided with the cost-
breaks and world-class logistics of a
global distributor.
This combination of local expertise
and global foundations allows SILICA
to deliver cutting-edge semiconductor
technology with true bottom-line value.
Our local teams of application engineers
and technology specialists understand
that the products we provide are pivotal to
our customers’ success. Their in-depth
design support is there to provide shorter
time-to-market cycles and genuine
competitive advantage - because if you’re
successful, we’re successful.
In 2001, SILICA began with a very simple

With SILICA’s Designers’ Community
we can provide open access to local
in-house engineering expertise. The
online platform is integrated into our
web site, www.silica.com, and provides
a portal to forums, video content and
technical resources supported by our
own engineers.
Members of the community can find
posts on the range of SILICA areas
of technology expertise such as
programmable logic, microcontrollers
and processors, analog/power, RFID,
lighting and metering. Community
management is supported by local
champions from across Europe.
The Designers’ Community.
Unlike existing communities for
electronics engineers, members of
SILICA’s Designers’ Community can
expect swift and relevant responses
to forum posts. Answers provided by
the community will be supplemented
by responses from our field application
engineers, with community managers
ensuring that all queries are addressed
rapidly.

Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery
JIT shipments are triggered directly by
the customer‘s manufacturing – with
the number of volatile world markets
increasing, this supports customers
with changing demands. Stock for JIT
deliveries is based on our customers’
rolling forecasts to ensure availability.
