The success of a Busduct specification is assured by the skills of GKW’s multi-disciplined design team utilising proven computer-based systems and the accuracy of the advanced equipment used in the manufacturing processes. GKW hold full third party accreditation to quality assurance standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015.

Because we supply the Busduct in pre-assembled sections, installation could not be easier or quicker. Consider the time and effort taken up by cutting, jointing, terminating, connecting and supporting a cable system for the same job and you will wonder why you have not used our Busducting systems before. We don’t just save you time, we cut your costs.

Busducting for the electrical supply industry and for large scale HV connections is not a new concept. Busducting for smaller commercial premises, where our design experience and technical precision come to the fore, is a relatively new concept. We are not only offering you a cost effective HV connections system, but also GKW experience and technical backup.

GKW’s Busduct offers you an extremely versatile connection package. Our systems are available in voltages ranging from 3.6 kV to 17.5 kV, complying with all the necessary specifications and standards. A well designed and economical product, our Busduct is supplied with either aluminium or copper conductors with specialised accessories available to meet all your individual requirements.

1. Through the wall seal. This seal enables the Busduct to pass through a wall to provide a water tight joint on both sides of the Busduct. This seal can also be made fireproof if required.

2. Standard lengths. We have selected three standard lengths of Busduct, which we feel will most meet your requirements. These are 2.5 metres, 3.5 metres and 5 metres.

3. Standard supports. Supports are supplied with your Busduct. These can either be floor or ceiling mounted according to your requirements.

4. Make up straight lengths. Where 2.5, 3.5 or 5 metre lengths cannot give you the exact length required, we incorporate make up pieces into the structure.

5. Standard corner unit. Standard corner units can be fitted in either a horizontal or vertical plane according to the location of the equipment you are connecting.

6. Standard expansion joint. This unit allows for thermal expansion of the Conductors and Enclosures resulting from temperature rise.

7. Adapter flange expansion unit. This unit forms the termination point between the Busduct and the equipment it is connecting. These units are pre-assembled with Budsuct for quick and easy installation.

8. Earthing. The extruded aluminium sides of the Busduct are used as an integral earthing conductor with earth bonding links at joints. Lugs are provided at the termination ends of the Busduct for the earth connection to auxiliary plant.

We have designed and are already supplying our product for use as transformer/switchboard interconnection. Further examples of applications are: generator connections, excitation connections, motor drives, rectifier/transformer interconnections and distribution networks.

An extremely cost-effective alternative to HV cable connections with a maximum fault capacity of 50 kA RMS, 1 sec - 150 kA peak, Busduct is ideal for connections between transformer and switchboard, motor drive or generator.
