Prior to founding Bridges Limited, a consulting firm in 2017, Chibamba worked at the International Monetary Fund, Washington DC as Communications Advisor. Previous engagements: Director General Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation; Director of Corporate Affairs

Maurice Makalu is the Author of the best seller “Your Power to Change” and a Transformational Trainer, with over 13 years experience in training design and delivery. Participants to full day training were the senior management team and later, middle management. ZAMBIA REVENUE AUTHORITY

The Zambia Revenue Authority is the main body charged with the responsibility of collecting revenue on behalf of the Government of the republic of Zambia.

a. Consultancy type: Development of ZRA Corporate Strategic Plan 2019 -2021

b. Consultancy synopsis: Bridges Limited was tasked to lead the development of the ZRA Strategic Plan that was later launched by the Minister of Finance. The assignment included carrying out a situational analysis, SWOT Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement and Analysis covering diverse stakeholders (government, private sector, donors, civil society organisations etc.); identifying Strategic Issues using the balanced score card, managing a ZRA Board and Management Retreat to set the ZRA Strategic Direction and objectives, crafting of new VISION, VALUES and MISSION statements including the new ZRA Tagline (Your Tax, My Tax, Our Destiny); identification and insertion of Strategic Pillars and Key Results Areas and Strategy Mapping. The work was fully completed and signed off after 75 working days.

a. Consultancy type: ZRA Corporate Communications Policy and ZRA Communications Strategy.

Consultancy synopsis: The policy focused among others, guidelines on communications regarding: Confidential information, internal communications, external communications, advertising, marketing and promotional activities, stakeholder management, customer engagement, Management of new media, publications, crisis communications, and penalties to non-compliance to the corporate communications policy by staff and related parties. The Communications Strategy (complementary consultancy): The primary objective of the strategy was to help ZRA build public understanding of the evolving role of the organisation; to better explain the ZRA’s operations in areas of tax collections; to enhance transparency and accountability to the various stakeholders and to build and maintain support for the mission. To some extent, the strategy is to enable ZRA facilitate a two-way dialogue with stakeholders, particularly tax payers. Communications, therefore, remains a strategic tool to help strengthen the effectiveness of ZRA as an open, listening, and responsive organisation.

Consultancy synopsis: Following the approval of the ZRA Corporate Strategic Plan 2019-2021, ZRA needed s strategy that would help it rebrand its image; create stakeholder awareness about its new Mission, Vision, values and tagline as well as its philosophy of work (which reads, ‘Zambia Revenue Authority exists to serve the people of Zambia through revenue collection and trade facilitation as guided by relevant statutes. We are driven by taxpayer focus, integrity, professionalism, innovation and networking. Our commitment to work is inspired by the desire for a prosperous Zambia.’ Bridges was engaged to draft a positioning strategy and this included: employee mind-set; improvement of ZRA perceptions; change management interventions; public engagement values; market positioning activities (corporate branding, below the line positioning, above the line positioning, internal staff engagements such as Town Hall meetings, public engagements and corporate social responsibility).

ZESCO LIMITED

ZESCO Limited is a vertically integrated electricity utility, which generates, transmits, distributes and supplies electricity in Zambia. It is a public utility, with the Government of the Republic of Zambia being a sole shareholder.

a. Consultancy type: Mentoring Training Course (147 ZESCO Managers).

b. Consultancy synopsis: ZESCO Limited, through its Human Resources and Administration Directorate, runs an employee development programme called the Graduate Development Programme. This programme is supported by a Mentoring agenda where experienced persons (mentors) are assigned to new graduates (mentees) to guide, support and counsel them. This is to achieve the wider goal of developing leaders in all the spheres of ZESCO and ensure that the new graduates become competent and achieve their career objectives in line with organisational requirements. This mentoring agenda was, however, not functioned expectation. In view of the above, ZESCO Limited engaged Bridges Limited (consultants) to conduct Mentoring Training workshops to upskill and strengthen the mentoring skills and practices of the mentors appointed under the Graduate Development Programme. The training was to cover 147 mentors. The overall objective of the training sought to ensure that participants appreciated and mastered the mentoring process and why the practices were important. Therefore, the overall objective was: To internalise attitudes, relationship skills and practices that make effective mentoring happen in both mentors and mentees.

ZESCO LIMITED

a. Consultancy type: High Performance Leadership (46 ZESCO Senior Managers)

b. Consultancy synopsis: ZESCO Limited (the client) requested Bridges Limited (the consultant) to develop and conduct training for Senior Managers. The training would be a follow up on the Mentoring Training that the consultant had earlier provided to Chief Officers, albeit tweaked in favour of strategic leadership training. The consultant proceeded to design, develop and conduct a High-Performance Leadership training to 46 targeted Senior Managers. The trainings were conducted on 26th and 27th November, and 4th and 5th December, 2018, at Twangale Park, Lusaka. The areas covered included: Principles of adaptive leadership for challenging times, Leading self (mental models, masterclass conversations, personal mastery), Leading Others (Coaching for results, situational leadership), Leading Highly effective teams (innovation, creativity, results), Leading systemic change, 15 Invaluable Laws of growth (full set)- John Maxwell, Put your dreams to the test (John Maxwell), How to be a person of influence (John Maxwell).

Zambia Airports Corporation Limited is a Public Limited Company which is wholly owned by the Government of Zambia and is mandated to enhance safety and improve standards of service provision at the local airports and in the Zambian air space.

a. Consultancy type: Review of ZACL Corporate Strategic Plan 2012 -2027.

b. Consultancy synopsis: Bridges Limited was tasked to lead the Review of the ZACL Strategic Plan. The assignment included carrying out a situational analysis, that is SWOT Analysis and PESTLE Analysis; identifying Strategic Issues using the balanced score card, managing a ZACL Management Retreat to review and set the ZACL Strategic Direction and objectives, recasting the VISION, VALUES and MISSION statements; identification and insertion of Strategic Pillars and Key Results Areas and Strategy Mapping. The work was fully completed and signed off after 14 working days.

ZSIC Life is a subsidiary of the State-Owned Zambia Insurance Corporation (ZSIC) and is charged with providing long-term life assurance products and group life and pension schemes.
