APPROACH & METHODOLOGY

RESULTS

▪ ZIP code sharp evaluation of existing loads and generation units to generate substation-sharp power time series for the status quo and 2050

▪ ZIP code sharp forecasting of future energy conversion units (electromobility, heat pumps, demographic developments, photovoltaics, wind, ...)

▪ Determination of future grid utilization cases and derivation of overloads and voltage band violations

▪ Short-circuit investigations, technical and economic evaluation of target grid variants

▪ Increase of 20% by 2050 in electromobility, heat pumps and new commercial areas

▪ Power flow reversal and recovery in the amount of today's base load

▪ Without grid expansion measures, about 20% of the equipment will reach inadmissible operating conditions by 2050

▪ Developed target networks have significantly lower annual energy losses despite significantly increased energy sales

▪ Different target grid variants form the planning basis for future planning in all voltage levels

INITIAL SITUATION▪ An urban grid operator has already initiated conversion projects of its 110 kV grid

by 2025

▪ The measures are to be reviewed with regard to their effectiveness with regard to a time horizon until 2050 and supplemented with alternatives and long-term grid expansion measures

▪ Scenario 2050 should consider all significant additional loads and generating units

▪ grid planning principles should be documented and expanded, reducing the complexity of the problem
