TIMELINE INTELLIGENCE
00:000:000:000:03333
Both British teams push out quickly,
hoping to advance far enough to prevent
the enemy from being able to run
unopposed throughout the map. To the
south, the 1st Commando start building a
Vickers MG nest.
Meanwhile to the north, an early Bren
carrier from 6th Engineers has first
contact with the enemy – a Panzer Elite
Kettenkrad, which it destroys.
00:00:00:00:00005555
6th Engineers have pushed up the far east
of the map, as the 1st Commandos have
consolidated the south. The centre is
currently contested, while most of the
north is in Axis hands. It is quite unusual
for the Allies to have more territory at
this stage in the game, so the signs are
hopeful for a quick win.
00:00:00:00:09090909
The 6th Engineers Bren outdoes itself,
destroying a number of enemy Scout cars
that would otherwise harass infantry and
capture sectors from us.
00:00:00:00:11110000
The 6th Engineers continue to capture
territory in the north, despite the
occasional axis unit slipping through to
take the odd territory.
In the south a Panzer Elite scout car ha
slipped past the Vickers nest to capture
the southernmost point.
Both British companies are deploying
sappers to the field to start preparing
emplacements for the Axis armour they
expect to see any time now …
00:100:100:100:11111
In the centre of the map, infantry of the
6th Engineers fight off some scout cars
and motorcycles, as to their north,
sappers start building the first 17-
pounder AT gun emplacement.
Meanwhile at the south of the map,
sappers of the 1st Commando company
are doing the same thing.
However, the Axis forces don’t appear to
be in any hurry to field their armour.
00:00:00:00:11112222
The 6th Engineers deploy their first heavy
tank – the Churchill infantry tank, to the
centre of the map.
Behind them, sappers of the 1st
Commandos can be seen finishing off a
Bofors gun.
00:00:00:00:11114444
In the centre, 6th Engineers build a
Bofors to further solidify their defences.
After clocking up a impressive eight
vehicle kills, another incursion by Axis
light armour (including the first Puma of
the day) finally destroys the 6th Engineers
bren carrier.
00:00:00:00:11117777
Although a number of Axis Pumas have
started appearing, there is still no sign of
anything heavier, possibly due to the lack
of fuel or munitions available to them.
The 6th Commandos call in a second
Churchill to fortify their position to the
north.
The 1st Commandos take the opportunity
to build a 25-pounder artillery gun,
which they use to start shelling Axis
positions. At the same time they call in
the first tetrarch.
00:00:00:00:11119999
A sudden Axis push on both the south
and the centre of the map causes some
Allied losses.
To the south, a force of light armour
pushed down the slope, but with no
heavier armour to support them they are
soon picked off by the gathered defences
of a 17-pounder, a Bofors gun and two
tetrarchs.
In the centre, a push by Axis infantry
(some with panzershreks), supported by a
Puma and Light AT half-track forces the
Churchill to retreat under damage, but a
second 17-pounder is built to prevent the
Axis getting any further.
00:00:00:00:20202020
The Axis are on the defensive already,
with Allied forces preventing them from
pushing out from their base.
The Allies are still wondering where the
Panthers and Marder III tanks are …
00:00:00:00:21212121
6th Engineers repair the damaged
Churchill and entrench it using the Hull
down ability to further cement their front
line.
00:00:00:00:22224444
The 1st Commandos drop a glider to
the south of the enemy base and
capture the point there. They are then
forced to retreat by an axis counter-
attack.
00:00:00:00:22227777
To the north, 6th Engineers deploy a pair
of Cromwell tanks, ready for the push
into the Axis base.
Meanwhile to the south, still expecting to
see some heavy armour at some point
soon, 1st Commandos opt for a Firefly
instead.
00:00:00:00:33330000
The commandos from the assault to the
south move north past the 6th Engineers
and sneak into the far north of the Axis
base, where they deploy a radio
triangulation beacon.
On their way out of the Axis base they
capture an enemy point and place an
explosive charge on it for good measure.
The charge destroys a Scout car as iyt
attempts to retake the point.
00:00:00:00:36363636
The 1st Commando positions to the south
are hit with sector artillery, which
destroys the Vickers nest and over the
next few minutes will also claim an
infantry section and a sapper squad as
they attempt to repair the bofors.
00000000::::44440000
With still no sign of any armour heavier
than Stugs, the Allies have consolidated
their assault forces and are preparing to
launch the final attack.
To the south, the 1st Commando are still
being hit with the sector artillery,
although its effect is reduced by the
British forces keeping out of that sector
while it is active.
00000000::::44442222
To the north the Axis move up a pak38
AT gun with a flammenwerfer half-track.
Luckily for the 6th Engineers the Pak
concentrates on the infantry rather than
the tanks.
An artillery strike from the Commandos
forces the Axis force to split up and pull
back ….
… and when the flammenwerfer moves
back into position, it is destroyed by the
6th Engineers Firefly that has appeared
there in the meantime.
00000000::::46464646
To the south, the 1st Commandos move
up the hill to destroy a small group of
axis light armour and then move on,
advancing into the Axis base, with
infantry and Tetrarchs following behind
the main tanks.
Meanwhile to the north, 6th Engineers
also push forward with their armour and
infantry.
00000000::::48484848
As the 1st Commandos move against the
Panzer Elite base, they are hit by a final,
desperate sector artillery barrage.
00000000::::49494949
Moments after the 1st Commandos
destroy the Panzer Elite HQ, the 6th
Engineers destroy the Wehrmacht HQ
and the battle is won.
