What I Have Done
Children’s Advocacy Center Helped out at their annual skeet shoot by pulling the clay
pigeons. All of the proceeds go to the CAC since they are non-profit they relay on volunteers and fund-raisers like the shoot.
Shamrock- my sororities annual football tournament to raise money to prevent child abuse. We raised $20,000 this year. 80% of that stays in the community to help local cases and goes to the CAC.

Relay for Life This year I participated in the Relay for Life fun run in
the fall to raise money for the big Relay event in the spring.
I also participated in the spring relay. I walked the 3am-4am shift to help my team raise money for cancer research.

Valdosta-Lowndes Humane Society I went to the animal shelter to help out with whatever
they needed. I ended up getting to give the dogs and cats some good loving. I got to play with them in the yard and then give them baths.

What It Meant to Me
I enjoyed both of the groups I got to help this year through service learning. I got to work a lot with the Children’s Advocacy Center and recently I even got to take a tour of their facilities. It was so interesting to me the means they take to prevent child abuse; so interesting, that I am now considering one day working in the social work field so I can also help their great cause.
The animal shelter was great because I absolutely love animals!
