Community Outreach for Research Excellence
HUCC CORE PurposeHUCC CORE Purpose Educate- Use evidence based approaches to
inform the community about general health promotion, cancer risk reduction, early detection, and treatment
Empower- Work collaboratively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities to build capacity for informed decision-making and community health advocacy
Engage- Reduce barriers to care and increase access to and utilization of evidence-based interventions, especially within medically underserved communities
HUCC CORE ServicesHUCC CORE Services Provide input on study design to assure feasibility
of recruitment Develop tailored recruitment and retention plans Identify and maintain partnerships with
organizations that may serve as study collaborators and assist in recruitment
Provide ongoing community education and outreach to promote interest in research study participation
Create and maintain a database of potential participants for cancer research studies.

groups of community organizations, stakeholders, opinion leaders, and advisors
Skilled community health educators Expertise in community-based participatory
research, community-academic research partnerships, and building research teams

Evidence-based information on community research engagement, building research capacity, and strategies for disseminating research to communities
