Parent Opinion Survey The 2018 Parent Opinion Survey will run from the 23 July to 26 August. The survey will be conducted online and only takes 15 minutes to complete. It can be accessed via desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile through a secure online portal. It is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents. All responses are anonymous. The survey is designed to assist us in gaining an understanding of your perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. We will use the survey results to help inform and direct future planning and improvement strategies. We will provide the randomly selected parents with the survey link shortly; parents log in to the secure site and complete the survey online. We thank you in advance for your participation.

Health Alert Slapped Cheek (Fifth Disease) This is to advise there has been a confirmed case of Slapped Cheek (Fifth Disease) at EPS. This is a common childhood viral infection where 5-15% of preschool children and 50-60% of adults are immune. Most cases experience no symptoms at all. In children the infection causes a mild illness with little or no fever but a striking redness of the cheeks (hence the name). This may be accompanied by a lacy looking rash that fades within a week. When the rash is visible, the person is no longer contagious.
You may be at risk if you :
have a chronic blood disorder (ie sickle cell disease)
have an immunosuppressed disorder (ie those on chemotherapy or organ transplant recipients)
or are pregnant
If you have any concerns contact your local doctor or call the Dept of Human Services on 1300 651 160 or visit www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au.
