1HORIZON POWER COMMUNITY INVESTMENT PROGRAM

Horizon Power’s focus is to create value for future generations of Western Australians and to make a difference to the lives of people in the communities we serve.

WHAT WE BELIEVE IN

At Horizon Power, we believe our role in communities does not stop with the tangible assets we create and upgrade, such as new power stations and upgraded networks. Equal importance is placed on employment opportunities and continued engagement with communities at a local level.

We are focused on extending the availability of reliable electricity supplies to all regional communities and providing a safe and reliable electricity supply to all of our customers, regardless of what part of the service area they live and work in.

We create opportunities to assist in the development of communities, whether through providing employment opportunities, sponsoring community initiatives or delivering our Horizon Discovery Zone education program to school children in regional WA.

In all we do, the safety of the public and our employees is paramount.

At Horizon Power, our job is much bigger than providing electricity to customers – it is providing the basis for health, safety, education, economic growth and self-determination.

COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIPS

We develop and support partnerships with community organisations that have activities, interests and values compatible with our own. We strive to be the local energy partner for the communities we serve and create energy for life. The focus of our Community Investment Program is to identify and support initiatives that contribute to Horizon Power’s intent to maximise social, environmental and economic intergenerational assets to the communities we serve and involve the company as part of the community.

We aim to support a broad range of not-for-profit organisations and events that encompass areas of strengthening communities through the themes of safety, value and community.

All submissions must be consistent with Horizon Power’s values:

Safety, value and community.

Our approach is not to simply sponsor an event or project, we aim to partner with organisations and provide them with support for the lifetime of the partnership. We expect that our partners will work with us to deliver on the proposed objectives of a sponsorship and to actively promote the partnership and Horizon Power’s contribution.

WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS DO WE SUPPORT?

OUR VALUES

Horizon Power views community engagement as a core component of successful business practice, one that must be managed as professionally as any other part of our business.

COMMUNITYProjects that assist in the development of building strong communities through business development, education and training, and arts and culture.

VALUEProjects by local organisations that focus on creating value for future generations of their community and help nurture and preserve the natural environment.

SAFETYSafety of the public and our employees is paramount. We will consider projects that promote and encourage safety, health and wellbeing.
