COLUMBINE LAKE COUNTRY CLUB
COMMUNITY INFORMATION FOR CLCC
PO BOX 714—GRAND LAKE, CO 80447
2018
Oct—December
“We are a covenant-based community with fair, balanced and consistent standards. We are focused on the preservation and enhancement
of our tranquil mountain environment, lake and recreational amenities.”
Columbine homeowners should be very proud! To date, approximately $8,000 has
been collected to support the Grand Lake Fire Protection District. Grand Lake Fire Chief Mike Long, along with many other firefighters joined homeowners at our recent pancake breakfast.
The chief stated that some of the money would be used to buy new tires for the fire trucks, new radios, and equip-ment to enhance their emergency response system.
So give yourselves a big pat on the back! Without your sup-port they would not have been able to afford many of the needed items they require.

aggressive and unpredictable during this time.
So as a reminder, please give them a wide birth
and be respectful of these beautiful animals.

Remember those? Did you ever hear that it takes just as much effort to be kind as it does to be unkind? Well it’s true!
So this is a friendly reminder for all of us to practice common courtesy & manners once again. This includes everyone, the CLCC staff, AND the CLCC homeowners. It doesn’t matter whether you are at the Clubhouse, the dumpster, the office or just walking around the neighborhood, let’s all be kind to one another. We’ll all work together much better! Thank You to all of you that DO use your manners!
We are at work for YOU!
In an effort to ensure we retain the overall beauty of our lake community, your Board of Directors and the ARC (Architectural Review Committee) have been working together to review and update our Rules & Regulations as necessary.
Through this newsletter, we are making a concerted effort to inform all home and lot owners of any changes. Most recently, the language contained in Building Criteria Article IV, and Small Projects Section 4.02 regarding lake docks, has been updated. Before undertaking any work (repair, staining, replacement, etc.) of your Dock, please ensure you take the time to read these two specific sec-tions. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our General Manager, Chris Atencio.
Thank you!

The CLCC Board of Directors initiated the process of creating
a Short-Term Rental Committee (STRC) at the July 2018
Board meeting. Board members participating on the commit-
tee include Geoffrey Schaney (Chair), Marilyn Binkley (non-
host), Rebecca Fine(host) and the community members include
Gary Hanson(non-host) and Josh Sewell(host).
The STRC’s first objective is to get a copy of each CLCC
Short-Term Rental Property’s Grand County STR Permit as
well as a copy of (or link) to all advertising of the property to
validate the inclusion of renter restriction to CLCC amenities
within the content of the ad.
The STRC is currently rewriting Article VI. Renters, to more
accurately reflect the HOA CLCC Board approved email dated
July 2017 regarding Short-Term Rental Regulations.
Thanks go out to the Host Owners
that have already sent in the requested
Materials!

Invoices for the 2nd half of HOA fees due for the year 2018-2019 will be going out the first week of October. If you have already paid your HOA Assessment
fees in full, you will not receive an invoice.
All balances are due no later than November 30th!
Any unpaid balance at close of business on November 30th, will incur
a $50 late fee, PER LOT.
have successful summer!
Those white daisies that were prolific in CLCC public areas
early in the summer? Most of them are gone thanks to the dili-
gence of Dave Kaeding, Maintenance (CLCC) and a myriad of volun-
teers led by Betty Bush. Scentless Chamomile was manually pulled
on seven (7) miles of CLCC roadways as well as Milestone used to
eliminate sprouting Scentless Chamomile, patches of Oxeye Daisy,
Canada Thistle, and Yellow Toadflax. All are invasive (push out na-
tive plants) and some are noxious (cause irritation
to the mucus membranes of moose, deer and elk).
You may have noticed that the “Thistle Patch” in the open area at Beaver and
Columbine Drive has had most, if not all Canada Thistle sprayed three (3) times.
Canada Thistle is nearly impossible to pull up.
The volunteers and Dave do not trespass onto private property to pull,
spray, or inspect for weeds. It is up to you as a CLCC homeowner to rid your
property of these invasive/noxious weeds. We have at least 49 CLCC properties
that have one or several of these weeds that need to be removed. The seeds of
these plants spread to the property of others.
Please join our force of Weed Warriors and help keep CLCC free of noxious/
invasive weeds. This will encourage the native plants we really love…Lupine,
Columbine, Goldenrod, and other lovely Colorado natives.

What’s the $478 for you ask? That number is what Columbine homeowners donated to our local
Mountain Family Center! Not only money, but lots & lots of good food too! Thank you Columbine homeowners once again! Your
generosity is second to none! THANK YOU!
John Joyce. A resident of Columbine Lake, he and his wife Tami, have lived here full-time since 2017. John has chaired many boards in his past helping to raise funds for charitable causes, both public and private. He has extensive background in Safety & Security and is currently heading a committee for Columbine Lake for the same. John has a long history of community involvement and hopes to provide a positive impact to Columbine Lake. We welcome John’s expertise to the board!
Just a little nudge folks. . . Those poop stations are a courtesy for all who live here and need to pick up after their pets. They are not for your own personal supply. We appreciate that you use them, but then please remember to put them IN the poop can after you scoop the poop! Let’s not leave them along the road. Let’s all do our part to KEEP COLUMBINE CLEAN! Thanks to those of you that DO scoop it up!

Columbine is pleased to announce that we have homeowner help in the areas of fishing and lake patrol! If you are asked for your fishing pass or homeowner pass while on or near the lake, please don’t be alarmed.
JUST BE SURE TO WEAR YOUR PASS! It’s that easy. Columbine is making a concerted effort to educate our homeowners and be sure it is only our homeowners that use the lake, whether fish-
ing or boating. With the increased amount of people in Grand County, we have many folks helping themselves to our lake to fish and boat.
CLCC homeowners pay for these fish and we want to keep our waters pristine! This is why it is so important for you to WEAR YOUR PASS. If you are fishing, you must have your fishing pass or you may be asked to stop fishing.
If you see someone wearing a bright yellow vest that says LAKE PATROL on it, please don’t give them a hard time. They are merely trying to help ALL Columbine homeowners in assuring that not just anyone is fishing in our lake and boating on our waters. Thank you for your cooperation. And remember to WEAR YOUR PASS!
KUDDOS to some of our lake patrol folks named below!

with PaintCare
. . . and your local Ace Hardware store in Granby!
In an effort to do away with messy paint cans, we encourage you to recycle your paint cans at the nearest drop-off site, which is in Granby. Ace Hardware will accept all brands of old house paint, stain and varnish—even if they are 20 years old!
Containers must be five (5) gallons or smaller. All PaintCare drop-off sites accept up to five gallons of paint per visit. Make sure all containers of paint have lids and original la-bels, then load them in your car & take them to the drop-off site during regular business hours. They will accept them any day they are open. So instead of filling up our dumpster in Columbine, you can drop them off yourself on your way home to Denver and the front range. We are going to slowly eliminate this area at the dumpster, so we are asking for
your help. Thank you in advance for your support!

North Beach will be removed by CLCC staff. If CLCC personnel have to remove it and store it, you could face a fine for this violation!
Remember to keep everything at least 5 feet back from the road, so that CLCC snowplowing operations can keep the community roads cleared.
