About the Community Grants

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield’s Community Grants Program funds equipment, activities and projects that foster individual and community wellbeing.

What Funding options are there?Community Projects Community Project Grants of up to $7,500 aim to support the delivery of a broad range of projects that support community health and wellbeing. Applications may be submitted, when funding round opens, with two assessment periods per year to distribute funding. We are looking to fund projects that align with our City Plan and can demonstrate positive outcomes for the community.

Equipment Equipment Grants of up to $2,000 per year are available to not-for-profit groups and organisations to purchase equipment which is necessary for the organisation to deliver activities or services which foster individual and community wellbeing. Applications may be submitted at any time during the year. Unincorporated groups are able to apply for Equipment Grants.

Small GrantsGrants of up to $1,000 are available for not-for-profit groups and organisations for unforeseen or short-notice projects. Applications may be submitted at any time during the year and applicants will receive a response within 4 weeks. Unincorporated groups are able to apply for Small Grants.

How will my application be assessed?Projects and EquipmentThe first stage is an eligibility check where we will consider your application against the eligibility criteria (see ‘Am I eligible to apply?’ on page 2-3).

If the application meets all eligibility criteria it will proceed to the assessment stage where we evaluate how the proposed activity will deliver outcomes for our community. Applications will be scored according to the criteria below. We aim to ensure that successful applications achieve a score of 51% or more. If your application fails to meet that score, don’t worry, we will discuss it with you and provide feedback on what you need to improve.

Both the eligibility and assessment stages are undertaken by PAE staff. The decision of awarding grants will be made by PAE staff with appropriate delegations.

Things to remember• Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their idea with Council’s Funding & Partnerships Officer

prior to starting their application.

• Multiple applications will be considered from the same organisation where each proposal relates to a sep-arate and distinct project and meets all of the criteria for funding. Applications will be considered using the assessment weighting, and priority will be given to the application with the highest assessment score.

• Applications from State or Federal Government Departments and Services (or agencies working within State or Federal Government programs) will only be considered for funding of projects or activities that are clearly demonstrated to be above and beyond the core activities of the organisation AND engages/involves community in a significant way.

• Unincorporated groups applying for an Equipment Grant or a Small Grant must acknowledge and accept the risk associated by being unincorporated group. This must occur prior to being notified of the out-come for any grant submission.

12 months Council may determine that your application should be assessed under the project funding category. Should this occur, the process will be automatic and the application will be assessed according to the level of funding outlined in this document. Additional information may be requested if required.

Acquittals & Evaluation reporting requirementsSuccessful applicants for all levels of funding will be required to provide a written report describing the outcomes of the project. The level of detail required will be dependent on the level of funding being provided. Applicants that do not complete satisfactory acquittal and evaluation reports will be ineligible for future funding.

Project Grant funding will require a detailed evaluation report and acquittal upon completion of the project. The report is required within 2 months of project completion and should outline the outcomes achieved.

Equipment and Small Grants funding will require an acquittal report to be submitted 4 weeks following the purchase or activity.
