Spring Break Youth Baseball Camp for Ages 8 to 13Great opportunity for little leaguers to work with current LSHS baseball players and coaches on fundamental skills We will cover dynamic warm-up techniques, proper throwing mechanics, situational fielding, hitting, base running. Jr. Vikings Cheer Clinic for Grades K-8Grades K-8 are invited to have fun learning to cheer & dance at a two day clinic put on by the LSHS Cheerleaders. The clinic will conclude with a half time performance during a LSHS basketball game on Friday, Jan. 31. Jr. Viking Cheerleaders will receive a long sleeve t-shirt, pom-poms and a bow. Be sure to wear your Jr. Viking cheer clinic t-shirt to the game for free admission. All others attending the game will have to pay admission. Teen Hip-Hop for Ages 10-13 with Beyond Boundaries Dance Teen Hip Hop is a 60-minute class and specifically for ages 10 to 13. This dance style follows the current music trends and is seen in music videos, etc. These classes are for dancers who like self-expression, physical challenges, and

healthy competition. Exercises focus on increasing flexibility and strength, precision and creativity, and find your own style. Dancers are introduced to a variety of hip hop styles including, popping, locking, tutting, breakdance, and more. Progression in class sees an increased focus on weight shifting movements, tempo, intricacy, formations, footwork, and agility levels. This class also introduces floor work, how to execute balances and intricate moves that use the whole body. Students will be challenged to think on their feet while enjoying an energetic and fast-paced dance class. Our hip-hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun. This is a high-energy class for kids who want to take a fast and fun dance class. No experience necessary.

Primary Dance for Ages 3-5 with Beyond Boundaries DancePrimary Dance is a 60-minute class that is an excellent introduction to the basics of ballet and jazz steps with lessons designed to keep their attention in a fun and friendly atmosphere. This class focuses on creative

movement, which builds on the necessary gross motor skills needed for primary dance instruction while further developing their coordination in an interactive and creative environment. Fun, upbeat music is used to learn basic skills like hopping, skipping, jumping, galloping, and balance coordination. While learning beginning terms and the foundations of ballet and jazz, students will discover how to connect steps with the music to create combinations

of movement. Fostering creativity and expression in movement, students will begin to master the foundations, concepts, and vocabulary of ballet and jazz technique all while nurturing their love of dance. Proper technique is taught through creative dances and imagination. We focus on the basics: strength, muscle control, coordination, and classroom socialization.

Jazz Dance for Ages 6-12 with Beyond BoundariesJazz is a 60-minute class that focuses on finding one’s sense of rhythm and style of dance through improvement of flexibility and technique. Jazz dance has an increased focus on isolations, a lower center of gravity, high energy,

and stylization. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well-rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate. This class offers basic jazz dance technique, terminology and style with an emphasis on proper technique, alignment and movement quality. Set to jazz, R&B, ethnic and pop music, jazz classes are a great workout and fun for all.

YOUTH DANCE CLASSESBeginning Ballet for Ages 6-11 with Beyond Boundaries Dance

Known to be the most recognizable form of dance, ballet is a highly technical art form steeped in rich history and tradition, requiring years of dedicated study and practice to master. With its focus on proper

posture and form, ballet is an excellent foundation to build your dancer’s education upon, no matter which style of dance they pursue. This class will enhance your child’s coordination, balance and flexibility with the teaching of basic ballet positions, steps, and terminology through standing barre work and simple center floor exercises. Beginning Ballet introduces children to music and movement through a structured progression that emphasizes creativity and group interaction. Students are introduced to the basic shapes, positions, postures and traditions of classical ballet at a time when their fine and gross motor skills are becoming more refined. Your child will also enjoy simple and fun exercises in creative movement and music exploration. Beginning Ballet introduces the fundamentals of ballet technique including barre work, combinations, and choreography.

Strategic Chess for Grades 1-5Strategic Kids is proud to offer this unique program using a story-based curriculum to get children excited about chess. Our lessons are tailored to the skill level of the students; all chess levels are welcome! In each class, children will get a 30-minute lesson followed by 30 minutes of chess playing time! We use chess to teach many life skills including sportsmanship, patience, strategic thinking, planning ahead, and working towards a goal. The class will end with a fun tournament where children have the opportunity to win trophies and prizes!

They will learn the physics of flight concepts, create and race different types of airplanes. In this awesome Strategic Kids course, students will take projects home after every class!

They will start with easy creations and get more and more complex!
