Dear You were one of 1,600 local residents to sign a petition recently to strengthen community activity in Queen’s Park. On behalf of the Campaign for a Queen’s Park Community Council I write to thank you for your support and to invite you to a public meeting to find out more (invite enclosed). Local campaigners believe a Community Council for QP is essential to ensure the needs of local residents are heard and acted on; and that this is the best way to defend against the worst effects of the cuts to local services. However, the decision to allow residents in Queen’s Park to go ahead with the proposal lies with Westminster City Council. So a resounding show of support by residents at the public meeting on 18th June is essential to prove to Westminster Council that there is popular support for this proposal.
If you do one thing in your local area this summer, make Sat 18th June a date.
It will be an infomative, relaxed and friendly event. We welcome your suggestions and new ideas. Creche available on site – book by Thursday 16th June latest on 020 8964 8024 places limited. Yours sincerely, Angela Singhate, Chair !!!"#$%&$'()*+,--).&$/0"1/(

Each group will be discussing 2 questions in half an hour.
1) Does anyone have any questions about how a community council would work?
If there are questions that you cannot answer as a facilitator you need to write them down so that they can be answered later.
2) What sort of things do you think the community council should do for
Queen’s Park?
An existing list of ideas, which are also shown on the tree, is attached to this note which you can use to stimulate discussions and give people an idea of what we’re talking about.
You’ve also got some pictures to illustrate the different levels of activity that
may help. (see below)
Any new ideas that come out of your group discussion need to be written down on one of the post it cards that will be available. People can write their own, or you can offer to write them down for them.

Dear Sir,
Along with many other local residents I aKended a public meeMng hosted by the Campaign for a Queen’s Park Community Council at Beethoven Community Centre , W10 on Saturday 18th June 2011.
Having had the opportunity to discuss the pros and cons, I write to register my support for the campaign and the proposal to introduce a Community Council to Queen’s Park.
The Community Council would be a posiMve asset to local residents, and offers the most sustainable and appropriate soluMon to fill the void created aVer funding for the Queen’s Park Forum was stopped.
The Community Council will help to forge improved community relaMons between groups and promote integraMon, co-‐operaMon, and understanding in the community. It will also help to get local people involved in community life.
Yours sincerely
