As the old saying goes, “time flies when you’re having fun.”

Indeed, it does.

This year, the Backstreet Boys Fan Club Philippines

(BSBFCP) celebrated its 2nd year anniversary.  Yes, it

has been two years since our beloved Backstreet Boys

visited us again here in the Philippines for a “one-night only”

concert, and it has been two years since this sisterhood and

brotherhood, that is the BSBFCP, had come to life.

Last January 26, 2008, BSBFCP parties with its members at

the Congo Grill in Ortigas, Pasig City.  A number of members

attended this fun-filled afternoon, even one from Canada, Chit,

Pineda made it to this occasion.

The program was started with a prayer, as well as welcome

speech from one of the club’s administrators.  It was then

followed by a few announcements here and there.  The meal,

which was a cross between late lunch and early merienda was

scrumptious and heavy.

While the other members are finishing their meals, the program

went along and continued with the announcement of the

winners to the Me and My Unbreakable Picture-Taking Contest.

The grand prize was won by Maya De Guzman, who submitted

a funny picture of herself singing along with BSB when she got

her UnbreakableCD.  She received a limited editionUnbreakable

mug, as well as a Reload card worth Php300.

After the prizes had been distributed, a montage of the

birthday boys, AJ and Nick, which was prepared by one of

the BSBFCP administrators, was played and shown.  This was

then followed by the singing of the Happy Birthday Song for

the boys, the club itself and the members who are similarly

celebrating their birthdays for the month of January.

Later on, a few rare BSB items and merchandise were raffled

off, which was followed by an announcement regarding the

auction of other BSB items donated by some members.

Thereafter, everyone joined in the singing of Time, the club’s

“anthem” and of course, photo ops!

Another year ended, and a new one has just begun.  What

lies ahead, we can never tell, but one thing’s for sure, we will

always keep the Backstreet pride alive!

BSB Spotlight

Mabuhay Backstreet Boys Fans in the Philippines!

Celebrating our 2nd year as a fan community has been a real blessingespecially since we have the Backstreet Boys themselves, recognizing us as aunit and acknowledging our existence. We have had hopes of them coming inour country when the Unbreakable Tour kicked off last February but

unfortunately, the date was cancelled.  Even then, we remained strong and beingthe BSBFCP family that we are, we were able to help each other out cope withthe sadness the news brought us as we know that we’ll have our time eventuallyand God has bigger plans for us. ‘

This September, one of the Backstreet Boys, Howie Dorough, is coming to Manila,

Philippines to help promote Sarah Geronimo’s album and their duet, I’ll Be There.Let us support Howie at the mall show on September 28 and show everyonehow we keep the Backstreet pride alive in the Philippines!

We look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to continue sending

your suggestions and contributions for the next edition of the Community Blend.Til the next issue!  KTBSPA!

The Backstreet Boys are known not only for their soulful

and heartfelt music, but also for their group and individual

advocacies.  Every BSB fan knows that the Boys are

active, in one way or another, to a number of charitable

activities.

Staying true to this BSB tradition, the Backstreet Boys Fan Club

Philippines (BSBFCP) deemed it proper to hold its own outreach

program as well.

On October 20, 2007, together with Hands-On-Manila, a volunteer

group that focuses primarily on holding various outreach

programs, BSBFCP was able to make this foresight become a

reality.

Through Hands-On-Manila, BSBFCP discovered the Pangarap

Shelter, an institution which, as the name entails, helps school-

aged boys to attain and realize their dream of a better future

through education.  The Shelter, in a nutshell, provides home

for the boys, who are former street children, and helps them

look for philanthropists and sponsors who can help support

their schooling.

For this joint outreach program, BSBFCP was tasked to take

care of the games and provide the prizes for the kids, with an

added twist of course.

As with every BSBFCP activity, the program was started with

a prayer and subsequently, a welcome speech from the

Shelter’s administrator.  Soon thereafter, the fun and games

began.  There was a soda drinking contest, followed by a relay

race and an egg-throwing contest.  After which, the kids took

turns showing off their talents in singing, dancing and playing

the guitar.  A group of them even serenaded the day’s special

guest, Sidse (Sisa), who is a Danish national and a volunteer in

the Shelter.  We later on found out that she teaches art classes

in the Shelter every Saturdays.

After lunch was over, another game, now headed by the

Shelter’s administrators, was held.  This time, it involved both

the boys from the Shelter teaming up with the members

of BSBFCP.  Who can ever forget the infamous Jack ‘EnPoy

Evolution?

Later on, BSBFCP gave out hygiene sets, consisting of tumblers, combs, brushes, small towels, etc, which, we were told, are

some necessities needed by the boys in the Shelter.

Indeed, it was a day full of fun and laughter both for the

members of BSBFCP, the boys in the Shelter and the guests.

A friendship has been built and memories have been created.

‘Til the next time, our newly found friends… ‘til the next time…

It was the day that everyone in Backstreet Land had been

looking forward to.  Two years after their Never Gone album

was released, the Backstreet Boys are back with a new

album, Unbreakable.  Packed with the Backstreet sound we

loved all these years, the new album was released last October

30, 2007 simultaneously worldwide.

In the Philippines, Sony-BMG had a special offer

for the loyal Backstreet Boys fans and BSBFCP

members.  For a discounted price of only Php320,

one can pre-order the CD, which comes with a

Limited Edition BSB Desk Calendar for the year

2008.

A month prior to the forthcoming release, the

Backstreet Boys Fan Club Philippines accumulateda number of pre-orders from different parts

of the country.  A shipment fee was added for

those who ordered outside Metro Manila.

October 30, 2007 marked the release of the new

Backstreet Boys CD and a number of fans who

were able to pre-order

the same met up at Mr. Donuts, SM Megamall in

Mandaluyong to pick up their copies of the CD.

Much to the surprise of everyone, the event turned out to

celebration of friendship as fans took the chance to meet

old and new acquaintances and to relive their BSB memo

Along with the scheduled release of the pre-ordered CDs,

new BSBFCP contest was launched.  Dubbed as ‘Me and

The Backstreet Boys Fan Club Philippines (BSBFCP)

celebrated the release of the Backstreet Boys’ new

album Unbreakable last November 17, 2007 at Padi’sPoint in Araneta Center, Quezon City. The event was

graced with the presence of the members of the fan

club, as well as the club’s advisers from Sony-BMG Philippines,

Mr. Narciso Chan and Mr. Chito Confiado.

Registration started at 2PM and the guests were treated with

special Unbreakable bookmarks and freebies, courtesy of our

friendly sponsor, Hershey’s Philippines.  Early registrants were

given special button pins as an added treat.

The program started thereafter.  After the prayer, the album

launch party was officially started.  The new BSB songs were

played, along with a DVD presentation provided by the Sony-

BMG Philippines. A scrumptious late afternoon lunch was

Fans Go Unbreakable at Padi’s PointUnbreakable Album Launch

served, while a video presentation was shown, as prepared by

the BSBFCP admins.

The program livened up by the groove of Rommel’s group,

dancing to a medley of Backstreet beats, off from the new

album. Afterwards, a lively trivia game sustained the excitement

of the event.  A number of raffle prizes were also given out

throughout the program.

The day, however, is far from over. There was yet another

surprise waiting for the members.

Prior to the album launch party, the BSBFCP administrators had

repeatedly teased the members regarding a big surprise being

cooked up by BSBFCP as announced during the promotions

and invitations for the event.

After giving props to the people in Sony-BMG (Phils.), and

the anticipation of the members now rising, the BSBFCP

admins unveiled the big surprise -- a video greeting from the

Backstreet Boys themselves to BSBFCP!  It was the first time

that the video was shown to the public and the attendees of

the album launch were the first ones to see it.

In the video, the BSB thanked the fans for all their continued

support all these years and invited everyone, who has not

signed up yet, to join the fan club.

For BSBFCP, this is definitely another milestone in the

club’s history.  Finally, after years of waiting, the Boys have

recognized us.

[ BSBFCP EVENT ]

Page 6BSBFCP Community Blend. 2008 Issue.

F

or more than ten years, I have been a “backseat”

Backstreet Boys fan, a silent follower.  But, with the help of

technology, I was able to find people who share the same

love I have for the Boys.

It all started when I chanced upon this thread in

pinoyexchange.com – Keeping The Backstreet Pride Alivethread - where I met axianbeauty, mspoachedegg (who I

mistook as mspouchedegg), care4bsb, kat and others.  For

months, we talked and shared everything we had and knew

about the Backstreet Boys, and, of course, a little something

about us on the side.

Right after BSB’s concert in Manila in 2006, these people

decided that it’s about time that the Boys have their official fan

club in the Philippines.  And, from then on, now two years with

the club (and counting), I’ve met more and more people who

share the same love I have for the Backstreet Boys, online, that

is, since I am halfway across the world from them.  The website

put up by the club has become a “home” for all of us.

Finally, in January, I was able to meet everyone. (Well, notexactly everyone, almost everyone.)  The cl ub celebrated its

second anniversary last January 26, 2008. The event was held

at the Congo Grill in Ortigas, Pasig City from 2pm to 6pm.

I wasn’t really sure if I was excited or nervous that day. Too

overwhelmed, I guess, while thinking of what to expect, who to

see, what will happen.  We came in early so I was able to see

everyone coming in.  I saw a lot of familiar faces, but some I

only knew by name.  So, the event started with a sumptuous

lunch/dinner.  I have say, the food was really good, but o

the food that were served, I indulged on the Sinigang.

(Sorry, I really can’t forget how good it was.)  The admins

prepared some clips of the Boys and played them while w

eating.  Can anything get better than that?

Anyway, the fan club officers also prepared some rare

Backstreet Boys items to be raffled out to everyone who

attended the event.  After everyone’s filled up, they start

with the draw.  Poor me, even my luck was in shock that

it forgot what it’s suppose to do!  But that’s okay, seeing

happy faces of the other members was enough for me. Th

what I was there for in the first place. (I should’ve sneaked

on one of the prizes!)

Also, part of the day’s event was the celebration of Nick a

AJ’s birthdays, as well as the birthdays of fan club membe

celebrating that month.  There was cake, balloons AND p

poopers!  (I mean poppers!)

Of course the event would not be completed without the p

ops.  With camera flashes here and there, you wouldn’t kwho’s taking the picture of whom and where to pose for a

good shot. (Luckily, I was able to put my modeling skills to

then.)  Finally, I was included in the annual “family” picture

I call them family because by this time, our relationship is

just about the Backstreet Boys alone; it’s about all of us as

unit.  I am just so happy I have met all of them (the mem

and officers of the fan club) and I am looking forward to co

“home” again.

This is an account of a BSBFCP member who had the privilege

to watch the BSB Unbreakable Tour in Acer Arena, Sydney,

Australia last Febraury 22, 2008.

The Backstreet Boys fever is back and the temperature

continues to rise!  For others, it may seem that the

Millennium Mania is over, but the Boys definitely still

got it going on.  This was proven by their Unbreakable Tour

2008, which, to date, is still overwhelmingly being clamored

by Backstreet fans all over the world.  The Boys are giving

it their best, not just in concert arena, but kicking it great in

every country they are at!  Indeed, the Backstreet Boys are

unbreakable.

Febraury 22, 2008. The lights dim and the pandemonium starts

to break out --- one could hear the shrieking fans and see

the cameras flashing as the boxing arena of the Boys unfold

in center stage.  Each Boy was presented with his personal

statistics: hometown, birthday, astrological sign, record 15-0-0

and KOs 15:  Brian, Howie, Nick, and AJ.  The beat starts to pump

up heavily as the Boys break out to Larger Than Life, with

Kanye West’s Stronger funkily mixed into it.

One could feel the energy through and through, from their

well-choreographed dancing to their soulful singing of

Truly Unbreakable

by Lukring 2008

endearing ballads.  The Boys danced with so much vibrancy

that one can’t help but feel the urge to dance along.  One could

definitely feel the youthfulness in them as they had always

been.  First, they had these cool boxing wardrobes, and they

were like flying with their electrifying dance moves.  Then,

they changed into these hot and appealing black and gold

leather outfits and sang Everyone, Any Other Way, the all-time

favorite I want It That Way, and the heart-warming You Can

Let Go; another wardrobe change, now donning classy suits

while singing Helpless When She Smiles, Show Me the Meaning

of Being Lonely; finally, they got relaxed and comfortable in

shirts and jeans.  AJ and Nick wore souvenir shirts, which

they artistically designed themselves.  Nick was wearing AJ’s

rose, while AJ was wearing Nick’s “What Would Nick Do”.  They

belted out all their classics, as well as selections from the

Unbreakable album with so much heart and soul.  There were

fillers in between songs, and some were 80’s hits, with Nick

even dancing to the tune of Beat It.  Each Boy’s solo number

showcased each one’s uniqueness and individuality --- Howie

with his suave Latin moves, AJ rocking it on, Brian being such a

sweetheart and Nick, well, being Nick, a powerful drummer, who

also strums his guitar incredibly.

Manila’s Never Gone Tour last in January 20, 2006 was such

a great performance.  However, this time, the Unbreakable

Tour had the Boys, their band, crew, management, staff, and

everybody else gave it over and beyond what a fan would

have expected--- it was indeed a superb, ultimate show!

The Backstreet Boys surely know how to give the best

definition of what a true artist is.  I feel lucky to be part of

this momentous event.  Hopefully, the rest of the BSB fans back

home in the Philippines would also be treated to the spectacle

I witnessed.  For now, let us enjoy what every other BSB fan

from around the world could share with us.  No doubt, the

Boys are genuinely working very hard to give their best and

to reach out to each and every one of their devoted fans.

Undeniably, the BSB Filipino fans are looking forward to the

day the Boys will return to our country and, surely, they would

warmly embrace the Boys with much enthusiasm and would

readily belt out to every BSB song and become a contender

as one of BSB’s finest singing audience.

HOWIE DOROUGH

Last December 2007 at St. James Cathedral in his home-town of Orlando, Florida Howie Dorough when he married hislongtime love, Leigh Boniello,. What better way to celebratea wedding than with a passionate high five? That was HowieDorough’s theory when, after the pair was officially pronouncedman and wife on Saturday, “They high-fived each other inchurch,” says singer Deborah Gibson, a longtime friend of Dorough’s who attended their Orlando nuptials. “They reallyare best friends and that came across throughout the wholeceremony.”

From the being a romantic Backstreet Boy, he then switchedto being an entrepreneur when, in March, a grand celebra-tion was held for the ribbon cutting of Cordele’s newest hotel, the Country Inn & Suites on Frontage Road. As the CEO of Dorough Group, he was interviewed on CNBC about the open-ing of his second hotel in Cordele, Georgia. During the saidinterview, Howie tackled issues from his real estate businessto being a member of the international group, the BackstreetBoys. Howie was hands-on during the event and he even didthe honors of cutting the ribbon.

On the second quarter of the year, one of his memorableprojects for the Filipino fans took place when he recorded aduet with Sarah Geronimo in LA last March. The song entitledI’ll Be There, which was produced by Christian de Walden, willbe included in Sarah’s latest CD, which will be released in July.De Walden was the same guy who acted as go-between for Claire dela Fuente and Richard Carpenter in the re-recordingof the song Something in Your Eyes.

However, in late May, the sad news broke out and the fans allover the world were informed about the ordeal Howie was go-ing through when his father, Hoke, was diagnosed with cancer. In his MySpace post, he asked everyone for their prayers for a miracle and thanked everybody for their love and concern. In his promo gig, AJ McLean also expressed his love and sup-port for Howie and his family. As the lights went dim, he askedeveryone for a moment of silence and prayer for Mr. Hoke Dor-ough. Sadly, things did not seem to be going well. The concerttour in South Africa was cancelled as respect and courtesy toHowie and his family during the trying times. In June 22, Hoke Dorough joined our Creator during his sleep. It was fortunate that the Dorough family had the opportunityto spend time with Hoke before he passed.  During their timeof mourning, they thanked everyone for the love, concern andprayers and stated that they appreciated all the good thoughtssent their way.

Now, life goes on for Howie D. The Backstreet Boys carried onwith the Unbreakable Tour in August. Fans continued to givehim their support and love. Presently, he is working with hisproject, a solo album, and this September, after touring with theBackstreet Boys, he is slated to come to Manila, Philippines tohelp Sarah Geronimo promote her new album and their duet, the carrier single entitled I’ll Be There.

AJ McLEAN

If you’re an AJ fan, you would probably alreadyknow the story about him burying a $40,000 giftwith his grandmother who passed away, only tobe asked for it to be returned. But, he was only inhis teenage years then. Going on his sixth year of being sober, a lot has been going on with AJMcLean.

He reunited with the Boys three years ago, embarked on a world tour and now, he is gearingup for the launch of his solo album.  He alreadystarted a series of promotions in the US andEurope and received positive feedbacks, notonly from the fans of the Backstreet Boys butalso from his new audience.  With the humilitythat is remarkable from a member of a worldwidephenomenon, AJ started the promotions throughlow-key gigs in various areas in the US andEurope full of enthusiasm to connect with his fansand to give them a taste of the music of what is instore in his new album.

“My record is a lot more personal and a lot morereal, so to speak,” he says in an interview witha magazine in August.  “My stuff is a little morerelatable, as far as things I’ve been through

heartache, the rela¬tionship I don’t have with mydad,” added McLean, who has had well-publicizedsubstance abuse problems.

“As I started making the record, I found I had a lotmore to say than I thought I did, and I had more toget off my chest,” he said. “The only thing I didn’tharp on was my sobriety and the drugs. I didn’twant to go there yet.”

Looking good on his main page, AJ McLeanlaunched his official website, http://aj-mclean.com/ last March. Since the start of the Unbreakable Tour last February,Nick had been busy updating the fans online about lifeand career through his MySpace. He recently updatedhis layout and is currently working on his new website atwww.nickcarter.net (not yet available online though).

In his interview with LiveDaily last March, he mentioned

working on another solo album soon. He, nonetheless, stated, “I will always stay with the comfort of my boysbecause we have a great relationship. We’ll divide outtime individually and group-wise.” He even mentioned co-writing a song with longtime friend, Andrew Fromm, thesongwriter behind I Need You Tonight . Along with GillesGollard and Nicole Witt, they came up with the song, Two

Forevers.

Concerning love and relationships, he and AJ are theremaining bachelors of the group after Howie Doroughgot hitched last December 2007 with longtime love, LeighBoniello. Nick admits during his interview with Britain’s OKMagazine last March that he isn’t sure if he will ever feelready to settle down and start a family. “I haven’t thoughtabout fatherhood. I’m thinking about myself and I’m notthe marrying kind. I’m not saying I wouldn’t change mymind, but if I did I’d run away and do it in secret so no

one would ever know. I’m energetic and youthful and it’sexciting. I’m not ready to settle just yet.”

Aside from his singing career, Nick was recently seenaround Nashville, Tennessee with friends. Doing businessperhaps? Soon thereafter, he likewise expressed hisdesire to move out of California, which he did. During oneof the real-time chat sessions in his official fan club in July,he mentioned moving in his new house in Nashville. Herevealed he was sick during the concert in the LondonO2 Arena (where the MSN Webcast show was held) andapologized if he wasn’t able to give much energy. He thengave credit to the other Backstreet Boys for being thegreatest supporters in his career, for being his mentorsand his influences in the different side of life.

Getting back in good shape and maintaining his health,Nick is also in the process of mending his relationship withhis mother, Jane Carter, when she was arrested in July.

He expressed his love for his mother and offered his fullsupport. With everything positive happening around him,the fans wish him more luck with his family, his solo albumproject, his current tour with the Backstreet Boys and hisadvocacy in preserving the wonders of nature.

Backstreet News

The Backstreet Boys started the year with the promotionsof their new album Unbreakable and launching their musicvideos Inconsolable and Helpless When She Smiles.  On thefirst month of the year, they dismissed the speculations thattheir record company is on the verge of dropping them.  JiveRecords was reported to have been preparing to kick theU.S. boy band off its roster.  However, a spokesperson for thelabel tells website TMZ.com, “Reports about Jive Recordsdropping Backstreet Boys are completely untrue.  The group isabout to embark on a worldwide tour in support of their album,Unbreakable, starting 16 February (in Tokyo), as well as somehigh-profile television appearances.”

True enough, the worldwide tour kicked off in Asia, particularlyin Japan.  They then headed to South America and Europe, then back to the US and North America.  Unfortunately, dueto unexpected circumstances that befell Howie Dorough’sfamily, the Boys decided to cancel the show in South Africa toenable Howie to be with his dad during the latter’s last days.In a audio recording posted at various BSB websites, Howieelucidated the reasons for the said cancellation and expressedhis gratitude for the support of the fans. He added that the heand Boys are hoping to come to South Africa soon to performfor the first time in the said country. In relation to this, ticketsalready purchased were refunded at Computicket and VIPPackages bought through www.backstreetboys.comwerelikewise immediately reimbursed.

The Backstreet Boys Set the Word Straight on The Apprentice

Backstage at their sold out show at Rotterdam’s Ahoy Arena, Nick Carter was asked by the press about the Backstreet Boysrecent guest appearance on the top rated US television show, THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE.  “It was an amazing expeence,” said Carter, “and such a great opportunity to raise money for all of the charities involved in the show. Although I have ttell you, we were really surprised at how many people took us seriously when we gave those difficult tasks to Trace Adkins, athe good spirit of the show. We like the guy and thought it would be great to have some fun with him and add more excitemetheir final challenge.”

In line with this, Donald Trump, one of the show’s executive producers, commented, “The Backstreet Boys are an internationphenomenon and it was an honor to have them appear on ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ finale.  The good natured conflict thewith Trace resulted in some of the show’s funniest moments.”

[ BSBFCP CONTEST 2008 ]

This song, “I’ll Be There” deeply hits me and what I have right now with my ‘magic’partner. It’s a song that just doesn’t reflect our magic, it has more that shows howwe are passionate about the ‘magic’ or love that’s between us. We are young, andwe still have to learn through the years. But as of now we have one thing commonin our minds that we are very sure ofto be there for each other no matter what.

There is more to love that keeps us together amidst the many hindrances that keepcoming to us. We are not weak, but we are yet to be strong. That is why we bothkeep our words to be there for each other until our last breathe. This song clearlydescribes our magic, our passion, our love, and our will to make our relationship

last until forever.

It’s really nice to know that there is someone that really cares for you. Especiallywhen your down and depressed, just knowing that you have someone to lean on andshare your burden with, makes you feel brighter and enlightened because you know

that he shares the burdens and he celebrates  victories as well.Even the world turn its back on me, I know that he will always be beside me. I really

like this song because each line keeps my heart longing and yearning for my love.

i have special someone but we are not together. Circumstances keep us miles awayfrom each other. But despite of the distance, just thinking of him brings sparkle to myeyes. I feel his presence with just a simple memory of him. Even we are not together,we already know in our hearts that what we feel inside is enough for us to overcomesolitude and wretchedness. I have confidence that destiny will set the right time for usto be together. But while waiting for that anticipated moment, I will linger on the daysthat we had together. And those memories will drive to keep dreaming on tomorrow. I

believe that he will always be there for me as much as i will be there for him.

“Just believe it’s true, I’ll be there for you…Just think of me and I’ll be there”

“I’ll Be There” merges a beautiful friendship between two continents, the East andthe West, through music.  I love Sarah and Howie’s duet as it simply expresses mysentiments in 3 main areas I’m passionate about:    for dear family and friends near

and far, the future love of my life,  and the amazing Backstreet Boys.

Special people are our life’s garden we tenderly care for.  They are the candles thatlight up our nights.  Sometimes, distance keeps us apart.  I’ve got family and friends, geographically separated, but inspite of this, it is not a hurdle.  We can still count on

each other no matter what.  We go the distance for one another.

Whoever the lucky man I’d be blessed with to share my life, this song speaks of thelove oath I will have for him.

For the Backstreet Boys, they are the only genuine artists I am truly dedicated to.Through the rollercoaster they take us, the fans, in for --- it is a never-ending joyride.

My heart is always with the boys.

T

here are a number of Backstreet Boys

fan sites all over the World Wide Web,

but what makes this site interesting and

truly unique is the fact that this may the only

site that brings comprehensive news and

facts about our Sweet D, Howie Dorough.

Hailed in Norway, Tess is a music fanatic

who will listen to almost anything that’s of

good quality and fun, something that makes

one want to sing along, as well as music

that makes one think about what meaning

the lyrics have behind them. She has been

a Backstreet Boys fan for 13 years now

and still sees another 13 coming up. She

loves managing websites as a hobby, and

combining that passion with creating one for

her favorite band is an added bonus.

We requested her for a short chit-chat with

us to talk about her love for Nirvana and

NOFX, the Backstreet Boys, her websites,

and the relationship between Howie D and ‘N

Sync’s Bye, Bye, Bye.

BSBFCP: How long have you been a

Backstreet Boys fan?

Tess: I’ve been a fan since late 1995, since

the first time I heard “We’ve Got It Goin’ On”

on the radio.  So, it’s been going on 13 years

now.

B:  What inspires you, as a fan, when it

comes to your day-to-day experiences?

T: The Boys have amazed me from Day

One.  When they first came out, I was a huge

Nirvana and NOFX fan, but the Boys opened

the “pop” world to me.  They had a drive for

what they were doing and, no matter what

kind of stories the media has managed to

cook up about them over the years, they

have brushed them all off and kept going.  I

think a lot of fans can relate to that and can

look up to them not only because they are

really talented and good at what they do, butbecause they make a point out of being true

to their fans no matter what.  Personally, I

have met some of my best friends because

of them, and I think it’s really awesome that

a group can bring people together the way

they have.

B:  Have you met any of the Boys?

T: Yes, I had been lucky enough to have

encounters with all of the guys throughout

the years.  There isn’t a boring moment

when Backstreet is in town. Haha...

B:  You are the webmaster of the other

site, Kaotic-World.Com, which is a Nick Carter

fan site. What gave you the drive to start

out a site for Howie D?

T: I would have to say it’s for the same

reasons I started Kaotic-World.  I love web-designing and working on websites, so I

thought, why not combine both by having

a site for one or several members of my

favorite band.

B:  Who is Howie D for you?

T: I think the guys have him pretty much

described with his nickname, “Sweet D”.  He

is the one, out of all the Boys, who managed

to keep his private life out of the media eye.

That is what I really respect most.  He is a

private guy, but at the same time, he opens

up and shares part of his life with us, the fans,

which is really heart-warming.  The first thing

that comes to mind when I think of Howie

is the Birmingham sound check in England,

where he suddenly started dancing to ‘N

Sync’s song “Bye, Bye, Bye,” which left the

other guys staring at him with shock painted

all over their faces.  It was one moment that

made me and will make me laugh for yearsto come.

B:  There are times when some fans think

that the Boys are actually visiting the site.

How do you deal with these instances?

T: To be honest, there is really nothing much

one can do about it.  In both of my websites,

I usually get love letters for the guys,

marriage proposals and personal questions

about the guys which the fans want to be

answered.  If I receive such emails, I will just

politely reply to them and tell them that I’m

not the Backstreet Boy they are trying to

reach, but that they can go to the official fan

site and leave a message there, if they want

to.  I also tell them that, as far as I know, the

guys do not know about the site and that I

am in no way affiliated with them.  There will

always be people out there who won’t takeno for an answer, and the best way to deal

with them is to ignore them and just move on.

B:  What do you want to tell the fans who

regularly visit your site?

T: Thank you!  It means a lot to me that

other fans enjoy the site and keep coming

back.  The site is, first and foremost, made

for fans like me, so they can stay updated on

what goes on with Howie’s solo career, as

well as his career with the Backstreet Boys.

I love meeting new fans and I hope that the

site becomes a place where people can talk

about Howie and the Boys, or just hang out in

the forum.

B:  Do you want to say anything to Howie D?

T: Don’t ever change the person you are.

It’s because of people like you, who bring

joy to his fans through music that a lot of

people feel the support and love aroundthem to keep going in life.  I have grown up

listening to your music and it made a huge

impact in my life, as well as my friends’, and

I will always be grateful for that.  I’d also like

to add that I think it’s time for Howie to be as

stealthy as Nick claims he is and to cook up a

good prank for him...

THE BIGGESTBACKSTREET BOYS FANSThere are so many singers nowadays. From solo togroup performers, a lot of them exist and unique in their own way.

Music has become a huge part of their lives and so do I.I must say, music has always been my passion. Varioustypes of music are what I am fond of since I come tounderstand what it is all about.

Among those singers a certain performers capturedmy attention so much. They are Nick Carter, HowieDorough, AJ Maclean, Kevin Richardson and Brian

Littrell or popularly known as “Backstreet Boys”. Their music touches my heart in a very unusual way. I couldnot get enough of their songs. From rock to mellowsongs, all are worth listening for. One thing that I loveabout them is that they can both sing and dance atthe same time. I perfectly know it is very hard to doso. Every time I feel like I’m all alone I just sit back, relax and listen to their songs. I always share my upsand down to the five of them through their songs. Inthis way, I feel like I am a part of Backstreet Boys’ life. When they get hurt I feel exactly the same. I share their success and failure in life.

In short, they are the best singers for all eternity.Sent by: Jazteen

I’m the biggest Backstreet Boys fan for the simplereason that they make me smile. Whenever I feel downor is just not having a good day, I always turn to themfor comfort and relaxation. They’re good companionson those times. When I was in high school, I listento their music before sleeping. Now that I’m alreadyworking, I find myself still doing and enjoying that. Andeverytime I hear AJ’s voice, I always find myself smilingand imagining him singing those lines for me. LOL. For now, listening and enjoying their music is the closest Icould be to them. I may not have fancy stories to tell, but

making me smile sure makes me their biggest fan.
