LENTEN REGULATIONS

1. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat as well as days of fast, when only one full meal is allowed. On days of fast two other meatless meals may be taken according to ones needs, but together they should not equal another full meal.

2. The other Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat. 3. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of abstinence 4. from meat as well as days of fast, when only one full

meal is allowed. 5. Although the faithful may excuse themselves for a just

cause from these laws of fast and abstinence, there is an obligation to substitute another penance and no Catholic should lightly excuse himself/herself from this obligation in the Lenten season.

All Religious Education Students are invited to participate in the STATIONS OF THE CROSS with the presence and with their talent. We invited students of REY to design, paint or create a collage on a 11 x 17 sheet of paper. It may be in color or black and white, it must be two-dimensional (the art will be laminated), do not put any text on the artwork but do attach a sheet of paper with the artist’s full name, age and which station the art is. The submission deadline is Sunday, February 25. The artwork will be on display in the Chapel beginning February 28 and will be rotated so that all submissions will be dis-played. BOOK CLUB

The Newman Book Club’s next book will be The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis. We will meet on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:30 pm in the Library. Join us as we discuss works of fiction by authors with Catholic sensibilities.

LECTOR TRAINING

CATHOLIC WOMEN, WRITING Creative writer’s circle co-led by grad student Julie Bednarski and campus minister, Chris Clark. Fol-lows the Amherst Writers’ and Artists method. You’ll write in response to easy prompts, read your
