Thank you for your interest in the role of Communications & Marketing Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most established Christian charities of Scotland. The Nazareth Trust draws its inspiration from the words opposite, spoken by Jesus of Nazareth as He stood in the synagogue.

Our journey began in 1861, when a Christian doctor, Dr Kaloost Vartan, opened a 5-bed medical clinic in Nazareth - the only clinic for miles around.

Today, the Nazareth Trust holds a unique position in Israel and the Middle East, welcoming over 300,000 visitors each year to our various activities and operations, irrespective of faith, political persuasion, or tradition.

As the largest Christian ministry in the Holy Land, we provide Healthcare, Education, Biblical Teaching and Christian Volunteer Service all in the hometown of Jesus.

The successful applicant may have a strong background in communications at a senior level, and an outstanding ability to provide clear strategic direction. It is an exciting time to join the Nazareth Trust as we approach our 160th anniversary, and we are looking for a Communications and Marketing Manager to expand our outreach to current and new supporters, oversea our external communications across all channels, and raise awareness to support our organisational delivery.

Our Vision

Our work isn’t about buildings. It’s about people. People who come to us at a particular time in their life’s journey with physical, spiritual or emotional needs.

Our vision is that the communities of Nazareth and beyond, and our visitors, would know the Lord’s favor, become empowered and be healed.

To achieve this, we need to carry out an expansive development across all our services.

The Nazareth Hospital

Established during the time of the Ottoman empire, the Nazareth Hospital is Israel’s oldest hospital, surviving turbulent times in the Middle East.

Today, the Nazareth Hospital is the main trauma center offering acute care to the people of Nazareth and its surrounding areas.

Every year, we receive over 200,000 people across our services, whether it is to our Accident & Emergency department, Out-Patient departments or admission to our Specialist units.

Our hospital urgently needs expansion and development to continue providing healthcare to the people of Nazareth. To do this, we must modernize and expand our hospital buildings, enhance its role as a teaching hospital, and create a Medical Research and Discovery Center.

SERVE Nazareth

SERVE Nazareth is Israel’s largest Christian volunteer program outside of Jerusalem.

Christians from across the world come to Jesus’ hometown to support local ministries and to grow in their personal walk of faith.

SERVE volunteers live in Nazareth and work alongside local Christian believers, experiencing first-hand an overseas mission environment. They return home with an understanding of overseas mission, a faith that has been refreshed, and a life-long challenge to continue in Christian service.

To support this growing area of our ministry, we must refurbish all our facilities to enable short & long-term volunteer placements.

Nazareth Academic School of Nursing

The Nazareth Academic School of Nursing, established in 1924, is the only Arab nursing school in Israel.

Our students come from all over Northern Galilee to achieve qualifications ranging from the RN Diploma to the BA Nursing degree.

We want to empower our young people through an expanded provision of healthcare education courses, and to create new programs to teach and equip the Christian leaders of tomorrow.

To achieve this, we must expand our educational campus and its facilities.

In 2017, 100% of our students passed their final exams.

THE NAZARETH TRUSTEDUCATION

Nazareth Village

The Nazareth Village lies on a hillside in Nazareth, where we have discovered an ancient wine press, watchtowers, and terraced hillsides used as vineyards - all dating to Jesus’ time.

Today, the Nazareth Village is a restored first century farm and village which presents the life, times and teachings of Jesus to visitors from around the world.

We welcome over 100,000 people each year, and support a growing local ministry.

To secure the future of this expanding ministry, we urgently need to build a new visitors’ center and additional village buildings to enhance the visitor experience.

Christian Identity

We are unashamedly a Christian organization, embracing people of all faiths and none.

Through our chaplaincy and partnerships with local ministries and churches, we minister to our staff, patients, volunteers and visitors.

We need to greatly expand our chaplaincy so that it can provide 24/7 spiritual support to all who are in need, and to ensure that our Christian faith is expressed throughout all our services.

West Bank Mobile Clinic

Nazareth is close to the West Bank, where in many areas there is little or no medical provision, particularly among Bedouin communities.

Through the Nazareth Hospital, we have the ability and expertise to meet the basic medical needs of these people.

To us, every person matters. We want to purchase and fit-out a mobile clinic which will be staffed by our own doctors and nurses. We aim to hold regular medical clinics in the West Bank for the communities most in need.

We're looking for an innovative, creative individual to lead the development of TNT’s communication strategy to our support base, to build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, and to identify opportunities to raise the profile of TNT and its work amongst target audiences. Salary is £32,000, for a full time position of 37.5 hours per week. The position will be based in Edinburgh with occasional travel overseas; 25 days holiday per year, plus Scottish bank holidays.
