IT CHALLENGE

Do you have an innovative idea that fits a global energy company like Statoil?

You already know that efficient use of IT is critical for any business. In Statoil, we are constantly looking for solutions that can enhance utilisation of IT in our daily life; offshore and onshore, as well as sub-sea and sub-surface.

The IT Challenge is an initiative to talk about innovation. We are seeking dialogue; either you are part of a company or just an individual with ambitions within IT.

Your contribution might be an opportunity to make your idea become reality, by joint efforts.

So, what’s your idea?

IT CHALLENGE: AMOUNT OF DATA

Global availability of huge amounts of data. Communication speed and latency between locations makes moving data when using data hard. How can this be handled on an intranet? How can this be handled using the cloud?

CHALLENGE: How can we ensure that increasing amounts of data is always available?

How can we make sure that big amounts of data is available on miscellaneous geographic locations, in different time zones etc?
