It is important to know whether a disease is Communicable (able to spread from one person to another), or Non-communicable (not transmissible from person to person).
In your journal, copy down the listed diseases. Then place a (C) next to it if you think it’s Communicable or an (N) for Non-communicable.
*Extra credit: Tell what pathogen or life style factor is responsible for the disease listed.

Teacher’s Page
Objective: 1) Gain insight into the difference between communicable and non-communicable diseases. 2) Awareness of the cause and effect relationship between various life style factors and the conditions they cause.
Activity: The student will copy the different diseases listed, in their journal. They will then write a C for communicable or an N for non-communicable behind each of the diseases. Lastly, they should try to identify which pathogen, in the case of communicable, or life style factor, for non-communicable, causes each of the diseases.
Process: 1) The teacher will click through each of the slides, reading the information and instruction to the students. 2. On each slide that lists the various diseases the teacher should give the students 3-5 minutes to copy the diseases and
carry out the activity before proceeding to the answers on the next slide.
