Bring the doctrine of reconciliation to

the touchstone of nature, and then tellme….

—Thomas Paine, Common Sense

(1776)

Whatever your religious beliefs, anyall-powerful God is responsible forour constraint to natural law. Like itor not, we mortals are subject to thelaw of conservation in all its physicalforms. The available resources arelimited and commanded by the mostpowerful users of resources. In thisworld, might makes right. There isvirtue in it.

Existence of the law of conserva-tion requires all forms of natural lifeto advance as judged by the laws ofnature or to otherwise perish. Everymode and make of life faces retire-ment through failed competition with

other life or by the natural expirationof suitable habitat. Habitable earth isa necessarily transitory condition due

to natural causes alone: ice age

freeze, departure of the moon, engulf-ment by the sun. The universe ischurning. Natural progress is man-datory.

what country before ever existed a century& half without a rebellion? & whatcountry can preserve it's liberties if theirrulers are not warned from time to timethat their people preserve the spirit ofresistance? let them take arms. the remedyis to set them right as to facts, pardon &pacify them. what signify a few lives lostin a century or two? the tree of libertymust be refreshed from time to time withthe blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it'snatural manure.

—Thomas Jefferson, letter to WilliamSmith, dated 13 November 1787, notlong after Shays' Rebellion.

Culture is the aggregation of personalvalues across a people. If you can

judge a tree by its fruits, you canjudge a people and their culture bytheir civilization. Though individualresults may vary greatly, a societalpopulation is a sample size large

enough to cancel out infrequentindividual exceptions and expose anygeneral rule. In other words, the

results of a societal population are

stable with respect to a single, unifying culture.

Societal results may vary greatlybecause of external pressures, aswith the division into nation pairs

between Western capitalism andeasterly communism of Germany andKorea. Nevertheless, if a society isconsistently imposed upon, that is aconsistent result indicating perilous

weakness. The consistent results of a people

are the results of a culture. The valueof cultural results attests to the valueof the culture itself. Some differences

are mere style, but cultures haveranking. Cultures are generallyunequal in merit. The social andeconomic results seen around theworld prove it.

Riches that need not be economized arethe common good that members of asociety share. All members of a crew may

share standing in the ship without

conflict, but not the bunks. Materialthings that need not be economized canbe expected to advance with technology. Most roads in advanced nations are freelyaccessible, for example, but material

resources are not typical of the commongood.

The common good is generallypolitical. The expectation betweencitizens to share and not subvert a largely

political common good is morality. Areferential level of cultural sophisticationdefines right and wrong. Differentcultures have different moral standards.

A specific number of dollars is acertain nominal value, whereas howmuch that many dollars will buy isreal value. If Americans truly owned

their own money, the real value ofeach dollar would grow exponentiallylike the economy does.

Technology grows exponentially, as does

the means. The accelerating means areequally suitable to corruption, tyranny, improvement, and freedom. Though

Western economies have grown

exponentially, the purchasing powers of

their at currencies like the U.S. dollarhave lost value.

Exponential gains of technology have

disproportionately accrued to the corrupt, especially the corrupt rich. Losses of

money supply expansion have been pro-portionately shared. The house always

wins. Democrats they win; Republicanswe lose. They are banksters and friends.

We the people should be the house.

Real deation (increasing wealth

supply) is popular prosperity.Apparent ination (increasing moneysupply) is legalized extractionthrough dishonest money ofcentralized ownership. You may not

physically consume your own moneyby law. You are merely a licensee oftheir money, terms and conditionssubject to change.

Slavery is involuntary labor extraction.People get more than they deserve by

taking the labor of others. Slavery iscivilized, natural, and takes many forms.Ants are known to enslave ants.

Domestication differs from slavery in the

potential of the exploited for independentexistence. Civilized freedom is moredifficult to achieve than oppression, sofreedom is more the anomaly than isslavery. Slavery in the United States has

evolved from chattel slavery (antebellumAmerica) to wage slavery (the GildedAge) to slavery economics (abandonmentof the gold standard under Nixon).

As technology increases, the natural

standard individuals of a free society

must meet also increases. Thesophistication of a free culture will grow

exponentially, or freedom shall expire.

Cultures are generally unequal in civilized

sophistication, and so in capacity foraffluence and freedom. Civilized freedom

requires teamwork. Elimination of inept

team members is necessary for thehealth of the team. Ineptitude, however

diverse, is socially destructive. Forfreedom to ourish, cultures must grow or

die.

The most free and afuent

civilizations have had one culture, one language, and freedom ofreligion. The Roman Republic hadRoman culture, Latin language, anda multitude of paganisms. The

British Empire had British culture,English language, and doggedChristian differences. The UnitedStates has had British-Americanculture (once defining a melting pot),

Americanized English language, andagreeably disagreeing Christianities.

Mexico at its beginning used theU.S. Constitution as a template butadded orthodox Catholicism. For the

rst 160 years or so, until 1992,Catholicism was singularly permittedand prohibited in Mexico asexpedient for political control. Somuch for independent thought.

Indicative of the results: Don't drinkthe water.

Some have not feared to assert that a

people can never outstep the boundaries ofjustice and reason in those affairs whichare peculiarly its own; and thatconsequently full power may be given tothe majority by which it is represented.

But this is the language of a slave.—Alexis de Tocqueville, De ladémocratie en Amérique, Vol. 1 (1835), assubsequently trans. by Henry Reeveand Francis Bowen, chapter 15, re

unlimited power, vide ‘Tyranny Of TheMajority’

Incapable people express freedom as

feral freedom and the dissolution ofcivilized freedom. Morality is strategically

civilized reciprocity. Morality between

individuals representative of aliencultures permits sophistication no greater

than the common denominator of thosealien cultures.

If American Christians will notacknowledge what Christianity was until

modernized by the Reformation and

Abolition, a dangerous number ofAmericans will continue to characterize

all religions as benign. To deny the

Christian retirement of chattel slavery,

serfdom, and the burning of heretics is to

court our peril.

That the people, in that solemn

compact which is declared to be the

supreme law of the land, have not

constituted the state legislaturesthe judges of the acts or measures

of the federal government, but have

conded to them the power of

proposing such amendments of theConstitution as shall appear to

them necessary to the interests, or

conformable to the wishes, of the

people whom they represent.

—Massachusetts State Legislature, resolution of circa 13 February1799 in response to the VirginiaResolutions of 1798, Elliot's

Debates, 2nd ed. (1836), vol. 4,

p. 534.

The greatest threat to our freedom is ourcitizenry. The electoral college does notprotect a capable minority from tyranny

of the majority. Only scrupulousfederalism does that. A truly federalgovernment is the government of afederation. It is no coincidence that themeaning of federalism has been

perverted in the United States since thecurrent U.S. constitution was pendingratification by the States. If the rights of

the people are lumped together by

federal government, the majority maysubjugate itself and the able minority tothe bureaucrats of government. If acountry is a hodgepodge of very diversepolitical positions, there is no

government policy permissive ofrepublican representation. If citizens donot politically reap as they sow, theyshun the responsibility of their ownfreedom for the privilege of ill-gotten

gains.

Because people always want more, globalization is a force of nature. Theeconomic phase of globalizationkicked off by the Portuguese andSpanish some 500 years ago is nowover. The globalization of governmenthas begun, but for the continuity ofcivilized freedom, known only toWestern and Westernized nations, itmust be made a false start. To keepsubstantial freedom and peaceamong today's diverse Americans, wemust agree to functionally disagree,to have leave to reap as we sow, andto refuse the expedience of distantmasters.

The objective student of history

already knows what premises willagain fail and what will proveindispensable. Let nature judge.

Modern technology requires free

people to expand the use of freemarkets to politics. Freedom in the21st century will correspond to theregulation of government with free-market forces. Let government at all

levels compete for our business! To maintain American exceptional-

ism and the American Dream, wemust seek social quality over socialquantity and put our fortunes where

are mouths are. We must close thegap between civilized sophisticationand technological ability or becomeserfs of a second dark ages. We willvalue our States' rights over our

federal rights and choose thesubstance of our political heritageover its semantics, or British-American freedom will perish and adespotic new world order will rule. In

the name of peace, let us agreetogether or disagree apart.
