Preliminary research: Years 1-2Understanding evidence beyond the health sector by

engagement with local authorities on the following projects:

– Review & synthesis of ‘cultures of evidence’

– Qualitative case study of interventions in housing

– Ethnographic study of policy and practice in local authorities

– Evaluation of local government alcohol policies

– Focus groups with built environment practitioners

- Be aware of pragmatic and financial issues relating to evaluation

- Build capacity through knowledge exchange

- Take into account our own research findings and experience

- ‘Workshop’ rather than course – interactive opportunity to learn more about

what participants think.
