COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE SEPTEMBER 4, 2001 2002 SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS Recommendation The City Clerk recommends: That the 2002 Schedule of Meetings be adopted. Purpose To obtain Councils approval of the 2002 Schedule of Meetings. Background - Analysis and Options The 2002 Schedule of Meetings has been prepared in accordance with the Procedure By-law with the Committee of the Whole and Committee of the Whole (Public Hearing) meetings scheduled on the first and third Monday of each month, the Committee of the Whole (Working Session) scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and the Council meetings scheduled on the second and fourth Monday of each month, with the following variations: January: No meetings have been scheduled for the first week of January in order to accommodate vacations during the holiday season. February: The Committee of the Whole (Working Session) meetings in February have been scheduled on a Wednesday, since the Chinese New Year and Purim respectively fall on the preceding Tuesday. March: No meetings have been scheduled during March Break. April: No meetings have been scheduled for the first week in April due to Easter Monday and Pesach. May: Due to Victoria Day, the Committee of the Whole and Committee of the Whole (Public Hearing) meetings have been scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 st . July: No meetings have been scheduled during July. August: In accordance with past practice one regular cycle of meetings has been scheduled in August. September: The Committee of the Whole and Committee of the Whole (Public Hearing) meetings in September have been scheduled on a Tuesday, since Labour Day and Yom Kippur respectively fall on the preceding Monday. October: Due to Thanksgiving, the Council meeting has been scheduled on Tuesday, October 15 th and Committee of the Whole (Working Session) on Wednesday, October 16 th . December: Due to Chanukah and the holiday season, one regular cycle of meetings has been scheduled in December. The FCM Conference is scheduled for May 31-June 3 and the AMO Conference is scheduled for August 18-20. However, in accordance with past practice, the meeting schedule has not been changed to accommodate for the respective Conferences.

Recommendation
The City Clerk recommends: That the 2002 Schedule of Meetings be adopted.
Purpose
To obtain Council�s approval of the 2002 Schedule of Meetings.
Background - Analysis and Options
The 2002 Schedule of Meetings has been prepared in accordance with the Procedure By-law with the Committee of the Whole and Committee of the Whole (Public Hearing) meetings scheduled on the first and third Monday of each month, the Committee of the Whole (Working Session) scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and the Council meetings scheduled on the second and fourth Monday of each month, with the following variations: January: No meetings have been scheduled for the first week of January in order to
