Goal-II of MDGs focuses on three core indicators
Net primary enrollment ratio below 60%,target Completion/survival rate from grade1 to 5,(54.6%,target is 100%)
Overall literacy rate(57%,target88%)
MDGs proposed interventions
Incentives to girls and disadvantaged groups like income incentives,
provision of books. uniform and mid day meals Proper infrastructure,teacher,s training, establishment of schools for
girls in the vicinity, improved security, gender sensitive clean
working environment

Medium Term Development
Framework Govt. launched MTDF in 2005 for five years MTDF targets have been aligned with MDGs
MTDF have seven themes, Basic and college education
is one of the major areaMain objectives or thrust under this area are:
Universalisation of primary education, attainment ofadult literacy and gender equality
Children every where(boys&girls) would be able tocomplete primary class up to 2015
Ensure quality of teachers, establish educational insti. ofgood quality including cadet colleges
