The main appeal: how you know this and how it impacts the audience

Group Project: Using the graphic organizer below, begin drafting your ideas for a particular commercial you find that you will use on your group project. Each group consists of four members, and each member is responsible for analyzing one commercial and adding at least one slide to a presentation. You will turn in this graphic organizer for half of your grade. Make sure you communicate with your group regarding which slide/s your commercial will be highlighted. Also, be sure to bookmark your commercial and then embed it into your presentation. Commercial Title/Advertiser: _________________________________________________________________

Brainstorm: Answer each of the following questions after you find your commercial to analyze. 1. What is the advertiser trying to do in this commercial? (at least three full sentences)

2. Is the advertiser effective? For what audience? How do you know this? (at least five full sentences)

3. Is their argument about their product/idea credible? Or are they being manipulative? How do you know this? (at least five full sentences)

THE PRESENTATION

4. Now, think of how you can organize your slide/s for your presentation. You must discuss: • At least two strategies • The appeal • The impact on the audience • The effectiveness • The credibility

*You decide how you are going to organize your information and visually appeal to the audience. Be sure to, as a group, think of a theme (design, color, font, etc.). Your presentation must include at least 6 slides (a title page, at least one slide per commercial, and a works cited page with the links to each commercial).
